This week looks very different, as there was limited action as a result of being so deep into the postseason. However, we did not want to miss the opportunity to honor some of our most deserving athletes.
With that said, please keep in mind that if an athlete has already won, they cannot be nominated again. This is true in regards to selecting the Team of the Week as well.
Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote. The winners will be announced later this week.
We have also included Team of the Week vote to honor the collective efforts of some of the top squads in the county.
Voting will remain open until Wednesday at 7 pm. Only one vote per email address will be allowed.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee and then go vote who you feel is most deserving.

Female Nominee
With only the Palmyra Field Hockey Team left playing in their quest for the PIAA State Championship, a player will be nominated by the program and featured as this week’s Athlete of the Week.
Male Nominees
Caleb Dorshimer (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – The linebacker had 9 total tackles and a sack in the defensive effort that largely held Harrisburg in check for three of the four quarters of Saturday’s game.
Carter Kemper (ELCO / Sr.) – The only senior on the Raider offensive line led an effort that blocked for the ELCO running game against Twin Valley. Though they lost, lead running back Jake Williams was able to gain 160 yards.
Aiden Schomp (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – The tight end was a major part of the Falcons’ offensive scheme, hauling in 9 receptions for 110 yards, scoring on a 30-yard touchdown play.
Tupac Vasquez-Disla (ELCO / Jr.) – Led the Raider defensive line in slowing down Twin Valley’s rushing attack. During one drive in the 1st half, he played defensive tackle, nose guard, and defensive end . . . making a tackle from each of the three positions. In the 2nd half, he was key in limiting Twin Valley to one touchdown.
