Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.
Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week.

Female Nominees
Bryn Brandt (Cedar Crest / So.) – Golf: The sophomore continued a terrific start to the season on Tuesday at Fox Chase Golf Club, firing a one-over-par 73 to tie for second overall. Brandt, who earned medalist honors with a 71 in the season opener, has finished first and tied for second in Cedar Crest’s first two Section 1 matches while helping the Falcons race out to a 10-0 record.
Allie Fink (Palmyra / So.) – Field Hockey: The sophomore helped Palmyra make an impressive opening-day splash against Penn Manor on Saturday. Fink scored twice during the second quarter as the Cougars built a 4-0 halftime lead on their way to a 4-1 victory over the defending District 3 Class 3A champions.
Mya Pauleus (Lebanon / Jr.) – Girls Soccer: The junior wasted little time making an offensive impact in Friday’s season opener against CD East. Pauleus delivered a hat trick, scoring three times as the Cedars opened their campaign with a 4-0 victory.
Elsie Shuey (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Girls Tennis: The senior was dominant in singles action during Northern Lebanon’s 4-1 victory over Lebanon on Monday. Shuey did not drop a game, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 victory while helping the Vikings secure the team win.
Keirra Sholl (ELCO / Jr.) – Girls Volleyball: The junior filled up the stat sheet during Saturday’s Pine Grove Tournament, where ELCO placed second in a 15-team field. Sholl finished the tournament with 32 kills, 34 digs, six blocks, and six aces while providing the Raiders with steady all-around play and leadership.
Male Nominees
Jefferson Allwein (Annville-Cleona / Fr.) – Golf: The freshman continued an impressive start to his varsity career on Monday, firing a 76 at Conestoga Country Club. Allwein tied for second overall, just two strokes off medalist honors, while helping the Dutchmen finish second in the Section 4 match and improve to 7-1.
Sid Harrison (Palmyra / Jr.) – Football: The junior made his presence felt on both sides of the ball against Garden Spot on Friday. Harrison caught four passes for 71 yards and a touchdown while also contributing two tackles and an interception defensively.
Gavin Meson (New Covenant / Sr.) – Boys Soccer: The Flames found plenty of offense from Meson in Friday’s season-opening 4-1 victory over York Country Day. Meson accounted for all four New Covenant goals to help the Flames get their season started with a win.
Brady Ryan (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Football: The senior was a difference-maker in nearly every phase of Northern Lebanon’s 41-2 win over Pine Grove on Friday. Ryan rushed 11 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns, returned an interception 46 yards for another score, and added a 52-yard punt-return touchdown.
Connor Savitsky (ELCO / Jr.) – Football: The junior did some of the less-visible work that helped ELCO roll past Boiling Springs 35-7 on Friday. Savitsky collected three tackles, a tackle for loss, and two sacks on defense, caught a pass for 29 yards, and provided key blocking as the Raiders piled up 270 rushing yards.
Isaiah Zimmerman (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Football: The senior was the workhorse for Cedar Crest in Friday’s 45-12 victory over CD East. Zimmerman carried 25 times for 110 yards and found the end zone four times as the Falcons pulled away for the season-opening win.
