Addi Davis

During the week of April 20th, Addi Davis continued to show why she has become such an important part of Cedar Crest’s girls lacrosse team this season.

The junior defender was once again a steady presence all over the field for the Falcons, helping set the tone on the defensive end while also making her impact felt in transition and on offense. Davis face-guarded Palmyra standout Ava Lantz and helped limit her impact, while also finishing the week with 2 goals, 4 assists, 4 forced turnovers, 10 ground balls, and 1 interception. Those efforts earned Davis recognition as a LebCo Athlete of the Week.

“For Palmyra, my goal was just to limit her (Lantz) from making the impact on the game that she normally does,” said Davis. “I’m trying my best to get the ball up to our offense to get us on the scoreboard.”

Davis’ strong week came as Cedar Crest continued to put together one of the best seasons in program history. The Falcons are currently 12-4 with a pair of regular season games remaining and have already locked up a postseason berth for just the 2nd time in school history, with the first coming in 2025.

Her role has been especially important because of how much Cedar Crest relies on its defense to protect standout goalie Vi Bierman. While the Falcons’ offense has been scoring at a rapid rate behind leaders Avery Lechleitner and Bella Paquette, Davis has been a major part of the often overlooked group on the other end helping make that success possible.

For Davis, the goals this season have centered around both team success and becoming a stronger presence on the back end.

“Some of my personal goals for the season are to make postseason as a team and be a strong voice back on defense,” said Davis.

She said that mindset fits directly with what Cedar Crest is trying to accomplish as a group.

“Our team has the goal of a home game for Districts, and that starts on the defensive end,” said Davis. “I try to play my very best defense and support those around me so that we can accomplish this.”

That leadership has stood out to Cedar Crest head coach Jeanine Snyder, who said Davis has embraced a major role after moving from the midfield into the heart of the defense.

“Addi is the heart of my defense this year,” said Snyder. “She has stepped into this role after playing midfield and is doing a great job as the leader of our defensive core.”

Snyder said Davis’ impact goes beyond just individual production, especially with the way she communicates and helps organize the group during games.

“On the field, Addi is always putting in the work to be better individually and as a team,” said Snyder. “There have been many times when Addi has been like a mini-coach on the field, giving the defense instructions on where to go or how to adjust to another team. She is always the first girl I look to if someone needs to be face guarded.”

Off the field, Snyder said Davis brings that same energy to the program in a different way.

“Off the field, Addi Davis is always happy and joking around with her teammates and coaching staff,” said Snyder. “Addi Davis is well deserving of this recognition, and I believe will only continue to improve as we move into the postseason and even next season.”

Davis also made sure to credit the people around her for helping make that success possible.

“My coaches and my fellow teammates, because nobody on the team could have reached the success they have without us all supporting each other,” said Davis.

Part of Davis’ path to this point has included overcoming an early setback. She said she missed all of 8th-grade lacrosse because of an injury, which made her freshman season her first chance to play competitive lacrosse at the varsity level.

Outside of lacrosse, Davis also competes in basketball and cross country. Looking ahead, she said she plans to attend Delaware Valley College, where she hopes to make the biggest impact she can while also working toward becoming an agricultural education teacher.

Away from sports, Davis said she spends much of her time working on a local farm, attending FFA events and competitions, and being with her family.

For Davis, one of the best parts of sports is simple.

“It’s the competitive nature of it,” said Davis.

Congratulations to Addi on earning LebCo Athlete of the Week honors, and best of luck to her and the Falcons as they continue their push toward the postseason.
