Cougars Bounce Back, Roll Past Gettysburg to Complete Season Sweep

After a setback in Saturday’s hard-fought loss to Cedar Crest, Palmyra was ready for a chance to turn the page and get back onto the field. The Cougars did exactly that on Tuesday, defending their home turf with a 17-4 win over Gettysburg to complete the season sweep and improve to 11-4.

Ava Lantz led the way for Palmyra’s offense, finishing with six goals and one assist in a dominant performance. Ella Detwiler also had a big night as a playmaker, scoring two goals while dishing out five assists to help keep the Cougar attack moving.

The scoring was well-balanced behind them, as Grace Frew, Megan Isett, and Bella Kenes each added two goals. Eloise Frailey chipped in one goal and one assist, while Lily Ferretti also found the back of the net as Palmyra controlled the game throughout.

Defensively, Savannah Epler helped anchor the effort in goal, finishing with five saves as the Cougars limited Gettysburg to just four goals and quickly regained momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

Palmyra (11-4) will begin its final three-game stretch of the regular season on Thursday with a road game against Bishop McDevitt.
