Female Nominees

Elyse Ancharski (Palmyra / Jr.) – Basketball: In Friday’s 57-17 win over Red Land, the junior was once again huge for the Lady Cougars, leading the way with 16 points. Ancharski knocked down three three-pointers and did most of her damage early, scoring 13 of her points in the first half to help Palmyra seize control and cruise to the lopsided victory.

Ali Groff (Cedar Crest / So.) – Basketball: The sophomore averaged 11 points per game last week against Manheim Township and Manheim Central, highlighted by a 15-point performance against Central that included four made three-pointers. Groff also delivered a critical four-point play in the final minute to cut Central’s lead to two and keep the Falcons within striking distance.

McKenna Kantner (New Covenant / Fr.) – Basketball: The freshman continued her standout season with big contributions in wins over West Shore Christian and Harrisburg Christian. Against West Shore, Kantner stuffed the stat sheet with 26 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. She followed it by helping close out a narrow two-point win over Harrisburg Christian with 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 steals.

Georgia Sellers (Annville-Cleona / Fr.) – Basketball: The freshman helped power Annville-Cleona to a 56-8 win over Lancaster Country Day, scoring 10 points in the victory. Sellers is averaging 7.2 points per game this season as the Dutchmen have built an 11-9 record.

Ava Seifert (ELCO / Jr.) – Basketball: Seifert turned in perhaps her best week of the season, helping guide the Lady Raiders to key wins over Northern Lebanon and Garden Spot. The junior posted career highs in points in both games, including a 15-point performance in the win over the Spartans as she played with confidence and poise on both ends of the floor.

Kasey Weimer (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Basketball: With added scoring responsibilities in the absence of Hayley Sheroky, the senior delivered a huge week for the Lady Vikings. Weimer scored 16 points against ELCO, went off for 21 versus Fleetwood, and finished with 15 against Middletown while going a combined 21-for-25 from the foul line. She is also closing in on the 1,000-point milestone for her career.

Past Winner Spotlight

Qynne Demler (New Covenant / Jr.) – Basketball: In two wins last week, Demler scored 25 points and 21 points. She then started this week by becoming New Covenant’s all-time leading scorer, boys or girls.

Male Nominees

Russell Cisney (Palmyra / So.) – Wrestling: The sophomore continued a dominant stretch at 114 pounds, extending his unbeaten run since December 13th. Cisney delivered one of the biggest moments of Palmyra’s season when his pin against a Spring Grove opponent secured the team win and propelled the Cougars to the state tournament. Two days later, in the District 3 consolation finals vs. Central Dauphin, he also avenged two earlier losses with a 10-4 victory. Cisney now sits at 25-4 on the season.

Devon Englehart (Annville-Cleona / Jr.) – Wrestling: Competing at 133 pounds, the junior delivered big bonus-point wins in key spots. Englehart won his bout against Northern Lebanon in the District 3 team tournament via 16-0 technical fall, then followed it up Saturday at the Pequea Valley Duals with another tech fall (16-1) over an Oley Valley opponent. Now 26-9, he continues to build off a 5th-place finish at the LL League Championships.

Josiah Hayes (ELCO / Sr.) – Basketball: The senior has been a pivotal part of ELCO’s success this winter, contributing as a scorer, passer, and rebounder. Hayes turned in a strong performance Saturday in a key win at Northern Lebanon, finishing with 15 points while helping the Raiders get a big road result.

Erick Rivera Garcia (Lebanon / Jr.) – Wrestling: At Saturday’s Falcon Invitational at Cedar Crest, the junior earned a 4th-place finish at 133 pounds in a tough 20-team field. Rivera Garcia went 2-2 on the day, picking up a pin against a Sun Valley wrestler and adding a 5-0 decision over a Souderton opponent. He now stands at 16-9 on the season.

Sabriel Remingler (Cedar Crest / Fr.) – Wrestling: The freshman put together a strong day at Saturday’s Falcon Invitational, going 4-1 to earn 5th place in the 107-pound bracket in a 20-team event. Remingler’s tournament included two pins, a technical fall, and a major decision, highlighting a big step forward early in his varsity career.

Jadison Shuey (Our Lady of the Cross / Sr.) – Basketball: With OLC playing shorthanded, the senior’s presence was imperative across both games last week. Shuey led the Lions with 20 points, 16 rebounds, and 2 steals against Harrisburg Academy, then followed with 11 rebounds and 3 steals versus Anchor Christian while logging heavy minutes and anchoring the team on both ends.

Andrew Via (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Basketball: The senior has been a key piece for the Vikings all season and once again led the way offensively last week. Via paced Northern Lebanon in scoring in both games, putting up 12 points against Lancaster Mennonite and 19 points against ELCO.

Past Winner Spotlight

Austin Smith (ELCO / Sr.) – Basketball: In Saturday’s win over Northern Lebanon, Smith led the Raiders with 22 points. Earlier in the week he scored 15 in a hard fought loss to Octorara.
