Lebanon 41, Ephrata 31
On Saturday afternoon, Ephrata visited Lebanon, a team that has been playing its best basketball of late. After winning three straight before back-to-back losses to Hempfield and Manheim Township, the Cedars entered the contest focused on getting back in the win column.
Following a slow offensive start, Lebanon found its footing and built a 22–17 lead by halftime. The offense stalled again in the 3rd quarter, but the Cedars’ defense rose to the occasion, protecting the advantage and keeping Ephrata at bay.
Entering the 4th quarter with a six-point lead, the margin was still tight enough for the Mounts to threaten a comeback. That’s when Manny Martinez took control. The junior, who had already scored 8 points, added 8 more in the final frame, highlighted by clutch free throw shooting that sealed the outcome.
Martinez finished with 16 points, knocking down two three-pointers and going 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Derek Franco also had 15 points for the Cedars.
Lebanon (7-8) will face a big test on Monday night when they host McCaskey.

Cedar Crest 55, Wilson 48
On Saturday, the red-hot Falcons hosted Wilson looking to secure their fifth straight win. Through halftime, it appeared the Bulldogs might have what it took to halt the streak, as Cedar Crest trailed 22–21 at the break. Over the first two quarters, Jemar Pauleus led the Falcons offensively, scoring 8 points to keep Crest within striking distance.
Momentum swung in the 3rd quarter, as Antonio Tirado sparked the Falcons with 7 points, including a three-pointer, helping Cedar Crest take a one-point lead heading into the final period.
Once the 4th quarter began, the Falcons left little doubt. Cedar Crest erupted for 19 points, getting contributions from five different players as they pulled away to secure the win.
For the game, Antonio Tirado led all scorers with 18 points, while Pauleus followed with 16.
Cedar Crest (9-5) will look to extend its winning streak on Monday with a road matchup at Hempfield, a team they are currently tied with atop the Section 1 standings.

Cedar Crest 74, Penn Manor 58
Quickly gaining experience this season, the previously untested Falcons entered Friday night riding a three-game winning streak. They looked to make it four in a row as they welcomed Penn Manor to The Cage.
Cedar Crest got off to a hot start, using a balanced offensive attack that saw six different players score to build a 10-point lead after the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the Falcons continued to pull away as Steven Reyes, Jackson Smith, and Cam Tirado each knocked down three-pointers. By halftime, the scoreboard read 43-24 in favor of the home team.
In the 3rd quarter, Cedar Crest kept the offense rolling even as Penn Manor began to find more success scoring the ball. While the Comets won the 4th quarter, the outcome had already been decided, allowing Coach Smith’s crew to cruise to a comfortable victory.
Jemar Pauleus led the Falcons with 16 points, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance from the free-throw line. Reyes and Smith each finished with 12 points, while Tirado added 10. Reyes, Smith, and Tirado each connected on two three-pointers in the win.

New Covenant 76, Mount Cavalry 66
On Tuesday, New Covenant hosted Mount Cavalry in search of their seventh straight victory. The game got off to a strong start for the Flames, led by Grayden Summers, who scored 9 points in the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, a balanced scoring effort helped New Covenant build a 37-28 lead by halftime.
However, the night would not result in an easy victory. Mount Cavalry battled back in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Flames to take a 52-48 lead heading into the final frame.
In the 4th quarter, the fuse that had been lit for Grayden Summers finally ignited. The junior knocked down three three-pointers on his way to 12 points in crunch time. Senior Ben Rhine also stepped up late, scoring 8 points in the final minutes, while Talan VanderPloog went 3-for-4 from the free throw line to help seal the win.

Palmyra 37, Red Land 35
The red-hot Cougars put their four-game winning streak on the line Monday night with a road trip to Red Land, and early on, Palmyra looked every bit the part. The Cougars jumped out to a 14–5 lead by the end of the 1st quarter, fueled by trips to the free-throw line, a three-pointer from Braydon Bown, and six points from Tommy Steelman.
Red Land responded in the 2nd quarter, clamping down defensively and holding Palmyra to a single field goal, again from Bown. That push tightened things up, but the Cougars still carried a five-point advantage into halftime.
The pace picked up again in the 3rd quarter as both teams traded baskets. Brady Kyper led the way for Palmyra with seven points in the frame, helping the Cougars maintain control heading into the final eight minutes.
By the start of the 4th quarter, Palmyra held a seven-point cushion, but Red Land refused to go quietly. The hosts battled all the way back and tied the game late with a three-pointer. The Cougars, however, had the final answer, as Luke Johnson converted a game-winning layup with just four seconds remaining to seal the win and complete the escape from the West Shore.
Palmyra leaned on balanced scoring throughout, with five players finishing with at least five points. Kyper led the way with eight.
Palmyra (7-5) will return home Thursday night to host rival Hershey in a matchup that will be live-streamed as part of the LebCo Live Sports series.

Lebanon 53, Garden Spot 39
Prior to Christmas, the Cedars were mired in a six-game losing streak. Since the holiday break, Lebanon had turned things around with wins over Elizabethtown and Donegal. On Monday night, they looked to make it three straight with a home matchup against Garden Spot.
The game was tight early, with Lebanon edging ahead 14–13 in the 1st quarter. The early scoring was fueled by perimeter shooting, as Daryan Rodriguez knocked down a pair of three-pointers and Manny Martinez added another.
Defense took center stage in the 2nd quarter, with the Cedars limiting the Spartans to just one point. Offensively, Lebanon struggled to create separation, scoring six points in the frame, half of which came on another three from Rodriguez. At halftime, the Cedars held a 20–14 advantage.
Garden Spot responded in the 3rd quarter, trimming the deficit to just one point by the end of the period. That push seemed to light a fire under the Cedars, who erupted in the 4th quarter. Lebanon poured in 21 points in the final frame, led by Martinez, who scored 10 points in the quarter and went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Rodriguez also continued his hot shooting, drilling his fourth three of the night to help put the game away.
Martinez finished with a team-high 18 points, while Rodriguez added 14. Noriah Jones and Derek Franco also reached double figures, scoring 10 points apiece.
With the win, Lebanon improves to 6–6 and is back to .500. The Cedars will look to keep the momentum going Wednesday night when they host Hempfield.
