The Cedar Crest golf team capped an outstanding season by placing 6th in the PIAA Team State Championship, held Wednesday at Penn State University. The Falcons earned their spot in the State field as an At-Large Qualifier after a strong second-place finish at Districts, a performance that ranked among the best of all District runners-up across Pennsylvania.
The trip to States marked a milestone for both the program and the Lancaster-Lebanon League — Cedar Crest became the first LL League team to compete at the State Championships in the AAA division since Manheim Township in 2018.
Cedar Crest’s effort was highlighted by redemption over Hershey, the team that narrowly beat them by three strokes at Districts. At Penn State, the Falcons flipped the script and came out ahead of the Trojans to close their 2025 campaign.
Senior Carson DiBiaso shot an even-par 72, while fellow senior Dylan Ramsey posted a solid 74 (+2) in his final round as a Falcon after placing 6th on the individual leaderboard a day earlier. Freshman Bryn Brandt, who finished 8th in the AAA Girls during the individual competition, impressed as well, closing her first season with an eagle on her final hole, carding a 74 (+2).
For Cedar Crest, the 6th-place State finish was the culmination of a four-year stretch in which the program consistently contended for Section, League, District, and now State titles.
The team’s success has been driven in large part by the steady leadership and excellence of Dylan Ramsey, whose four-year career ranks among the most impressive in league history. Ramsey competed in more than 40 high school matches and postseason events, and remarkably, his worst score was a 76 (+4). He captured the Section 1 scoring title all four years, finished runner-up at the LL League Tournament four straight times, placed Top 10 at Districts every year, and finished Top 10 at States three times, including winning the 2022 PIAA State Championship.

Ramsey also helped guide Cedar Crest to two Section 1 titles (2024, 2025) and two LL League championships (2022, 2025) — the program’s first league crowns since before 2000. His consistency and leadership not only powered the Falcons to new heights but also helped reestablish Cedar Crest as one of the premier golf programs in the region. He will continue his golf career at Middle Tennessee State University, where he’ll look to build on one of the most decorated high school résumés in Lancaster Lebanon League history.
With the history books rewritten as Ramsey and DiBiaso graduate, Cedar Crest’s foundation remains strong. The Falcons return a talented group led by Jackson Seidel, Davin Kolter, and Drew Gebhard, among others. With that core in place — and rising standouts like Brandt gaining valuable postseason experience — the future looks bright for a program that has asserted itself among Pennsylvania’s best.
