On Friday night, the Lebanon Cedars hosted the Ephrata Mounts in Game #1 of the 2024 season. The occasion marked the final opening night games for Kailah Correa, Liliana Harrison, and Jae Burrus, the trio of seniors who have helped lead Lebanon to three straight Lancaster Lebanon League Section Championships and two straight PIAA State Championship Tournament appearances.
In the 1st quarter, the Cedars showed why they have had so much success in recent years, with four of the five starters registering points. Junior Olive Brandt led the scoring with two three-pointers for 6 points. Burrus added a trey, while Correa and Harrison each scored 4 points, including a perfect 2-2 at the line for the center Harrison. Nina Harrison, Lili’s sophomore sister, also scored a field goal. At the end of the 1st quarter, Lebanon was out in front with a commanding 21-10 lead.
The 2nd quarter was much of the same, with Lebanon continuing to outpace visiting Ephrata. In the 3rd quarter, Lebanon took the foot off the gas after an early scoring flurry from Correa, who had 8 points, including two three-pointers.
