The opening rounds of the Lancaster Lebanon League Wrestling Championships were held on Friday evening. Heading into Saturday, seventeen LebCo male wrestlers are guaranteed to wrestle for medals. Northern Lebanon is leading the charge on the boy’s side, as they are currently tied for 2nd overall after getting nine wrestlers set up to leave with medals. Northern Lebanon has six wrestlers ready to start the day in the Championship Semifinals. ELCO has four of its wrestlers in the same place, meaning they will not finish any lower than 6th place in the tournament. The top eight in each weight class make it to the podium.
In the first official Lancaster Lebanon Girls Wrestling Championship, there were representatives from five LebCo Schools. The medal results are too early to predict, but the following wrestlers picked up wins on Friday: Kylee Trostle (ELCO), Johbrianna Long (NL), Anna Lanka (NL), Ember Himmelberger (NL), and Isabella Poole Martinez (LEB). Trostle had the second-fastest pin of the evening, winning her match in twenty-two seconds.
Good luck to all of our LebCo Wrestlers on Saturday!
