Dutchmen Finish the Job, Capture Section 4 Championship

Annville-Cleona entered Tuesday’s final Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 4 match with one goal remaining.

Finish the job.

The Dutchmen arrived at Honeybrook Golf Club, Pequea Valley’s home course, holding a two-match advantage over the Braves in the section standings. A-C did not necessarily need to win the finale, but another strong showing would be enough to secure the championship.

That’s exactly what the Dutchmen delivered.

Pequea Valley defended its home course with a four-player score of 299 (+19), but Annville-Cleona finished second at 306 (+26). Lancaster Catholic took third at 313, followed by Lancaster Country Day at 354 and Lancaster Mennonite at 371.

That 3-1 finish was enough to finish the job, as Annville-Cleona closed the Section 4 schedule at 17-3, one victory ahead of Pequea Valley at 16-4, to secure the 2026 Section 4 Championship.

And while Pequea Valley won the team competition Tuesday, the best individual round belonged to a Dutchman.

Sophomore Benjamin Allwein fired a one-under-par 69 to earn outright medalist honors. Allwein finished one stroke ahead of Lancaster Country Day’s Felix Chen, who shot an even-par 70, and three ahead of Lancaster Catholic’s Nolan Sweigert, who carded a 72.

For Allwein, the round provided a fitting finish to another tremendous Section 4 season. After establishing himself as the section’s top golfer as a freshman and eventually finishing eighth at the PIAA State Championships, the sophomore again spent this season at the front of the individual race.

His younger brother was once again not far behind.

Freshman Jefferson Allwein shot a 75 (+5), tying for eighth overall. Allwein emerged as one of A-C’s most consistent contributors during his first varsity season, including several strong performances near the top of the Dutchmen lineup.

Senior Aidan Lezon followed with a 78 (+8), tying for 11th overall, while sophomore Will Kerwin provided A-C’s fourth counting score with an 84. Those four rounds combined for the Dutchmen’s 306.

Freshman Trey Schrefler added an 86, while Kipton Heller finished with an 88.

Pequea Valley needed a strong afternoon to give itself a chance of catching A-C, and the Braves delivered one. Blake Stoltzfus and Logan Stoltzfus each shot 74, Dion Stoltzfus added a 75, and Chase Dizel finished with a 76. Those four rounds produced the winning 299.

But the Dutchmen had already put themselves in position to control their own fate.

A-C opened the season with an 18-stroke victory at Bent Creek. The young Dutchmen then battled to a runner-up finish at Conestoga, returned to the top at Fairview, and continued piling up enough head-to-head victories to enter the finale with the section championship within reach.

Tuesday, they secured it.

With a lineup featuring only one senior and relying heavily on freshmen and sophomores, Annville-Cleona finishes the Section 4 schedule at 17-3 and alone atop the standings as the 2026 Section 4 Champions.

The competition between the Dutchmen and Braves isn’t finished, either.

Annville-Cleona and Pequea Valley will clash once again next Tuesday when the Lancaster-Lebanon League Championships are held at Four Seasons Golf Club. After finishing just one victory apart in the Section 4 standings, the two programs will get another opportunity to go head-to-head on the league stage.
