Blue Mountain 48, Northern Lebanon 37 – Brady Krall led the Vikings with 15 points, but a strong 2nd half by Blue Mountain helped them pull away from their hosts. Northern Lebanon (2-6) will welcome Kutztown on Monday night.
Following the game, Coach George offered these thoughts about how his Vikings played:
“It was a fantastic effort and easily our cleanest offensive, along with our best defensive game of the season. I’m super proud of these guys. To play like that versus a perennial District and State contending 5A team in Blue Mountain was awesome. We committed less than five turnovers and held them to under 50 points.
We keep improving in so many areas, but we’ve got to hurry up and start collecting some wins. We’ve been leading in every game but one in the second half this year and many times by double digits. We’ve just got to put it all together. Today, it was shooting that got us. A lot of that credit can go to Blue Mountain; they’re very athletic and made shots tough. But we executed well. It just wasn’t our day to get it through the hoop.
We did get really nice contributions from Carter Moyer & Connor Stoltz off the bench. Brandt, Bicksler, Messinger, Planken, and Via played tremendous defense as well. We’ve just got to find some more consistent scoring behind Krall. But we’re really getting close. We just have to stay locked in and the victories will come.”
