GOLF

District 3 Championships

AAA – Cedar Crest’s Dylan Ramsey moved up 3 spots during the 2nd round of play to finish 4th overall. As a result, he qualified for States. Teammate Ethan Rader finished 28th overall.

AA – Annville’s Logan Francis found himself in a playoff to determine the District 3 AA Championship. It took three tries before the Pequea Valley golfer was able to defeat Francis. With a silver medal, Francis has qualified for States.

CROSS COUNTRY

Mid Penn Championships

Palmyra’s Girls (7th) & Boys (8th) each qualified for the District 3 Championships.

 

FIELD HOCKEY

LL Quarterfinals

Manheim Central 2, ELCO 1 (OT) – Kailen Hibshman tied the game and sent it into overtime. The Barons scored in extra time to take the victory.

LL Quarterfinals

Cedar Crest 3, Lancaster Catholic 1 – Alaina Miller scored twice following an early goal by Susie Hoffman. Hoffman joined Cameron Blouch in setting Miller up for her goals. The Lady Falcons will face Cocalico on Monday evening.

District 3 Golf Championships

Round 1 (AA) – After one round of play, Annville-Cleona’s Logan Francis is in a tie for 2nd place after shooting a 78 (+6). Teammate Wesley Heller (92, +20) did not make the cut.

Both the AA & AAA competitions conclude on Saturday.

 

FIELD HOCKEY

Palmyra 3, Boiling Springs 1 – AJ Walker, Mallory Hudson, & Hadley Hoffsmith each scored for the Lady Cougars, while Maddie Stahl, Bri Eckenroth, & Jovie Weaver picked up assists. Palmyra led 3-0, but a late goal by the Bubblers ruined the shutout.

District 3 Golf Championships

Round 1 (AAA) – After one round of play, Cedar Crest’s Dylan Ramsey is in 7th place (73, +1) and Ethan Rader sits in 14th (75, +3) as the pair made the cut going into Day 2. Carson DiBiaso (82), Isaac Wolfe (87), & Davin Kolter (91) also competed for Crest.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

LL QuarterfinalsCocalico 2, ELCO 0 

Palmyra 1, Hershey 1 – Ava Lindenmuth took a pass from Kenzie Long to score the lone goal for the Lady Cougars as they would remain in a stalemate with rival Hershey throughout overtime to end in a tie.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Lampeter-Strasburg 3, ELCO 1 [25-22, 25-13, 15-25, 25-17] – On Senior Night, the Raiders were led by Gabby Smith (11 kills, 2 aces), Julia Wenger (22 assists), Kierra Sholl (28 digs), & Erica Snader (3 blocks).

FIELD HOCKEY

Palmyra 2, Bishop McDevitt 0 – Ella Longenecker scored in the 1st quarter & Mallory Hudson added an insurance goal inteh 4th quarter as the Lady Cougars prevailed. Bri Eckenroth & Maddie Stahl each had an assist. Palmyra did not allow a shot on goal.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

Annville-Cleona 2, Northern Lebanon 0 – Rowan Ulrich scored both goals for the Dutchmen with an assist from Mikayla Sperlich.  Ulrich finished the regular season as the L-L League goal scoring leader with 32 goals.  Mariam Elzek saved a Northern Lebanon penalty kick in the 2nd half to preserve the shutout.

GOLF

LebCo Championship @ Fairview

Cedar Crest’s Dylan Ramsey won his 3rd straight LebCo title as he shot a 64 (-7). Cedar Crest also won the event with their top three golfers combining for a 206, ahead of 2nd place Northern Lebanon (237). Lebanon’s Trinity Leaper was the Girls Champion.

GIRLS TENNIS

District 3 AA Playoffs

East Pennsboro 3, Annville-Cleona 0 – East Pennsboro prevailed in three very tightly contested matches to eliminate the Dutchmen from Districts. Annville’s Doubles pairs of Gabriella Tetzlaff/Mackenzie Long & Kaleena Espada/Hannah White each lost in three sets, while in Singles Olivia Morrissey fell 6-4, 7-5. Amelia Summers & Nia Hafey were tied at one set a piece when the overall match ended.

 

FIELD HOCKEY

ELCO 2, Ephrata 1 – Kailen Hibshman scored twice to lead the raiders to the victory on Senior Night.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

Palmyra 12, CD East 1 – In the goal scoring parade, Lianna Yi & Alyse Lindenmuth each netted two, while Ava Lindemuth, Sammy Seager, Delaney Miller, Kenzie Long, Alayna Pascale, Avery Grinstead, Kadia Herniak, Romy Lords each scored once. Assisting on goals were Sammy Seager (2), Abby Byers (2), Alyse Lindenmuth, Sofie Price, Arnetta Heffner, Sydney Kwiatkowski, Lianna Yi, Abbie Vates, & Alyssa Stroik.

Cedar Crest 1, E-Town 0

New Covenant 7, Coventry Christian 0 – Kai Hershey & Miracle Hershey both had 2 goals. Keira Kantner, Laney Zimmerman and Hannah Hubbard each added a goal. Kai Hershey & Keira Kantner both recorded their 100th career point in the victory. Emma Stevenson had 5 saves to earn the shutout as the Flames improved to 14-2.

 

BOYS SOCCER

E-Town 4, Cedar Crest 3

New Covenant 2, Ephrata Mennonite 0 – Hoover & Meson each scored once, while Summers earned the shutout in goal. The Flames are now 12-2-1.

 

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Cedar Crest 3, Ephrata 0 [29-27, 25-22, 25-18] – The Falcons earned a hard fought, three game victory over Ephrata. In the win, they were led by Caroline Heller (12 kills, 2 blocks), Miley Hopple (22 assists), & Lily Tice (23 digs, 2 aces).

Octorara 3, Northern Lebanon 0 [25-21, 25-12, 25-20]

ELCO defeated Covenant Christian in a tune-up ahead of next week’s LL League Championship Meet.

 

 

 

Monday, October 7

GIRLS SOCCER

ELCO 2, Cocalico 1 – Kenzie Eckhart & Hadyn Boyer each scored as the Raiders won at home against Cocalico. Madison Nelson assisted on both goals. Claire Jacoby made 7 saves for ELCO. The two teams will meet again on Thursday of the 1st round of the LL League Playoffs.

 

BOYS SOCCER

ELCO 3, Pequea Valley 2 (2 OT) – With just 1.9 seconds left on the clock in OT, Micah Gray knocked home the game winner to give the Raiders the road victory.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Pine Grove 3, ELCO 2 [18-25, 25-21, 25-15, 18-25, 15-13] – The Raiders fell in a five-set thriller on Dig Pink Night. In the loss, ELCO was led by Kierra Sholl (13 kills, 16 digs, 4 aces), Julia Wenger (35 assists), Gabby Smith (12 kills), & Erica Snader (1 block).

Palmyra 3, Cedar Crest 1 [14-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-15] – Crest won the 1st set, but Palmyra stormed back to win it in four. In the loss, the Falcons were led by Mackenzie Minnich (3 aces, 1 block), Caroline Heller (9 kills), Kenadie Dunsworth (9 kills), Lily Tice (21 digs), & Bralynn Weise (14 assists).

Lancaster Mennonite 3, Lebanon 2 [25-22, 17-25, 23-25, 25-13, 15-8] – In the tightly contested match, the Blazers got by the Cedars in 5 sets. Leading Lebanon were Noelani Cruze (9 aces, 16 assists), Liliana Harrison (4 blocks), Jae Burrus (12 digs), & Nina Harrison (5 kills).

 

FIELD HOCKEY

Cedar Crest 7, Lebanon 0 – The Falcons won the rivalry match led with 5 goals by Bella Paquette & 2 goals by Ava Schreier. Abby Gaughan had 2 assists, while Mallory Murphy & Avery Lechleitner each had one. Cedar Crest outshot Lebanon 24-0.

Annville-Cleona 3, Camp Hill 3 – Claire Francis & Danika Setlock scored in the 1st half before Camp Hill responded to take a 3-2 lead. With under 2 minutes remaining, Kendall Cooper scored on a pass from Setlock to tie the game. Savannah Kleinfelter had 11 saves. The Dutchmen are now 14-2-1.
