Wednesday, September 4
LL Section 1 @ Overlook
On Wednesday, the Section 1 teams met for their fourth match of the year, this time at Warwick’s home course of Overlook. To their credit, the Warriors used the knowledge of the course to their advantage and grabbed their first win of the season, dealing Cedar Crest its first loss of the year. Warwick totaled a 305 between its top four golfers, just 2 strokes ahead of the Falcons. Manheim Township was third.
Cedar Crest once again had the day’s top golfer in the form of Dylan Ramsey who fired a 69 (-1). Carson DiBiaso and Ethan Rader each shot 78 (+8) with Isaac Wolfe 82 (+12) closing out the varsity scoring. Also competing in the varsity competition were Davin Kolter and Jackson Seidel each carding an 84 (+14).
The order of the team finish on the day was: Warwick (305); Cedar Crest (307); Manheim Township (312); Penn Manor (326); Ephrata (327); Hempfield (342).
After four rounds, the Section 1 standings are as follows:
Cedar Crest: 19-1
Manheim Township: 15-5
Warwick: 13-7
Penn Manor: 7-13
Ephrata: 6-14
Hempfield: 0-20
The next round will take place on September 9th at Fox Chase, the home course of Ephrata.
Tuesday, September 3
LL Section 4 @ Lebanon Country Club
On Tuesday, Lebanon hosted their Section 4 counterparts at the Lebanon Country Club. Pequea Valley was once again the top team, totaling a 329, with Annville-Cleona finishing 2nd with a 353. Annville’s Logan Francis once again finished atop the leaderboard, this time firing a 71 (-1).
In addition to Francis, the following Dutchmen counted towards the varsity score: Wesley Heller (84), Owen Wright (97), and Aiden Lezon (101).
Lebanon was led by Ben DiScuillo, who shot a 99. Zach Leffler (117), Rolen Firestone (118), and Trinity Leaper (129) also factored into the team score.
The order of the teams was as follows: Pequea Valley (329), Annville-Cleona (353), Lancaster Mennonite (399), Lancaster Country Day (401), Lancaster Catholic (406), and Lebanon (463).
Through four rounds of Section 4 golf, the standings are as follows:
Pequea Valley: 20-0
Annville-Cleona: 16-4
Lanc. Mennonite: 12-11
Lanc. Country Day: 8-12
Lanc. Catholic: 7-13
Lebanon: 0-20
The teams will play their 4th of five rounds when they meet up at Crossgates on September 12th.
LL Section 3 @ Meadia Heights
On Tuesday, the Section 3 teams traveled to Meadia in what was their 3rd of five matches. The course, which is home to Lampeter-Strasburg will serve as the site of this year’s LL Golf Championship. Using their skill and knowledge of the course, the Pioneers carded a 305 as a team to finish ahead of the other who were left battling for 2nd place.
It was a close pack playing for 2nd place, with Northern Lebanon taking it with a 366, just 2 strokes ahead of Donegal and 3 strokes ahead of ELCO.
The Vikings were led by Levi Shoemaker and Collin Padovani, who each scored 90. Leland Kohr scored a 91, while Brian Bicksler closed out the scoring with a 95. Vinnie Battistelli (96) and Aiden Long (100) also competed in the varsity match.
ELCO was led by Brady Keath, who finished among the top golfers on the day with his 75. Brett Wenger carded a 94, while Liam Savitsky’s 99 and James Dolan’s 101 rounded the top four for the Raiders. Grant Wenger (103) and Landon Rhodes (114) also competed.
The current standings in Section 3 are as follows:
Lampeter-Strasburg: 12-0
Northern Lebanon: 9-3
Donegal: 6-6
ELCO: 3-9
Octorara: 0-12
They will compete again on September 10th, this time at Donegal Highlands.
