Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.
Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week.

Female Nominees
Ali Groff (Cedar Crest / So.) – Softball: Across Cedar Crest’s three wins over McCaskey, Manheim Township, and Bishop McDevitt, the sophomore helped lead an offense that was firing on all cylinders all week. Groff piled up 11 hits, 9 runs, 9 RBI, and 3 walks over the three-game stretch, serving as a major catalyst as the Falcons stayed unbeaten for the week.
Kiersten Powell (ELCO / Sr.) – Unified Track & Field: In ELCO’s home win over Lebanon, the senior turned in a strong all-around performance while helping the Raiders stay in the hunt near the top of the LL Unified Track standings. Powell posted personal bests in the 100m, turbo javelin, and relay, while also continuing to serve as one of the team’s leaders as ELCO sits in 3rd place in the division.
Cayleigh Shaak (Lebanon / So.) – Track & Field: At Saturday’s Blue Jay Invitational, the sophomore put together a strong all-around day by placing 4th in the long jump at 15’7.5”, 7th in the triple jump at 32’5.5”, and 7th in the 100m in 13.18. Earlier in the week, Shaak won the long jump and took 2nd in the triple jump at McCaskey, continuing a season that has already featured top county marks of 17’3” in the long jump and 31’7” in the triple jump.
Mackenzie Stellmach (Annville-Cleona / —) – Track & Field: The Dutchmen distance runner put together a strong week that started with a win in the 1600m and a 2nd-place finish in the 800m against Pequea Valley. Stellmach then followed that with a 15th-place finish in the 3200m at the Jack Roddick Invitational in a season-best 11:34.83 against a deep statewide field.
Maddy Waldron (Palmyra / Jr.) – Track & Field: At Saturday’s Jack Roddick Invitational, the junior sprint star turned in one of the top girls performances by a Lebanon County athlete by placing 4th in the 200m in 25.28. Waldron also placed 12th in the 100m and helped Palmyra’s 4×100 relay earn a medal with an 8th-place finish, adding to a productive season that already includes bests of 12.40 in the 100m and 25.13 in the 200m.
Emma Yordy (Northern Lebanon / So.) – Track & Field: At the Jack Roddick Invitational on Saturday, the Vikings high jumper turned in a strong showing by clearing 4’11” to place 10th, just one spot out of the medals. Yordy also improved on the 4’10” that had stood as her season best after she recorded that mark earlier in the week at Lancaster Catholic.

Addison Hollenbach (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Softball: Last week, the senior went 2-0 in the circle for the Vikings while continuing to produce at the plate during another strong stretch for Northern Lebanon. Hollenbach also reached the 100-hit milestone for her career, adding another big accomplishment to an already impressive season.
Chloe Shirk (ELCO / Sr.) – Softball: The senior put together a huge week of milestones for the Raiders, highlighted by her 100th career hit. Shirk also set ELCO’s single-season RBI record with 39 and broke the program’s career home run record with her 18th, continuing a powerful season at the plate.

Male Nominees
Jaxton Barger (Palmyra / Sr.) – Track & Field: At Saturday’s Jack Roddick Invitational, the senior struck gold in the pole vault by clearing 15’6”. Barger’s new personal best moved the defending District 3 champion up to No. 2 on the list of Pennsylvania’s best pole vaulters this season.
Thaddeous Gilbert (Lebanon / Sr.) – Track & Field: The senior middle-distance runner turned in a week that he will not soon forget as he joined the sub-2:00 club in the 800m. His week was highlighted by a 4th-place finish in the 800m at Saturday’s Blue Jay Invitational in 1:59.95. That came after Gilbert ran 1:59.0 to place 2nd in the 800m at McCaskey earlier in the week.
Luke Hentz (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Track & Field: The Vikings distance standout put together another strong week, highlighted by a 4th-place medal-winning finish in the 800m at the Jack Roddick Invitational in 1:58.73. Earlier in the week, Hentz swept the 800m and 1600m against Lancaster Catholic. Hentz’s season-best time in the 1600m is 4:34.94.
Nathan Meng (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Boys Tennis: After a tough loss at 1st singles against McCaskey on Monday, the senior showed real resilience by bouncing back with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Ephrata’s Reese Wilson on Wednesday. Meng has also grown into a key leader for the Falcons as the team’s No. 1 singles player, earning the respect of his teammates through his work ethic while also ranking near the top of his class academically.
David Moran (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Track & Field: At Saturday’s Jack Roddick Invitational, the defending PIAA Class AA 800m champion turned in a huge performance by winning the 800m in a personal-best 1:54.89. Earlier in the week, Moran also swept the 800m and 1600m against Pequea Valley.
Brian Wolfe (ELCO / Jr.) – Unified Track & Field: In ELCO’s home win over Lebanon, the junior delivered a big day by setting personal bests in the 100m, turbo javelin, and relay. Wolfe has also been a strong leader for the Raiders, helping power ELCO to 3rd place in the LL Unified Track division.

Adrian Gonzalez (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Baseball:
Last week, the senior ace went 2-0 for the Vikings with wins over Pequea Valley and Middletown, including a complete-game shutout in the second outing. Gonzalez finished the week at 5-0 with a 0.57 ERA, 59 strikeouts, 47.1 innings pitched, and just 8 walks on the season.
