Athlete of the Week

Athlete of the Week Voting: August 26 – September 1

Voting has closed. Stay tuned for the results.

Presented in coordination with Froggy Valley 100.1/WiLBuR 99.7 & Lebanon Federal Credit Union, help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action.  While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.

The winners will be announced at the end of the week. Linked below are the articles about our most recent winners of the award.

Voting will remain open until Thursday at 7 pm.

Only one vote per email address, per day will be allowed.

While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.

While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.

Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.

Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.

Female Nominees

Elliana Bauer (Palmyra / Jr.) – Soccer: The Lady Cougars were tasked with two extremely tough matches against Northern York and Lower Dauphin. Bauer, playing center defender, did not back down from the challenge and made the opposition earn every shot. She finished as Palmyra’s top ball winner and also contributed to many of the attacks.

Cameron Blouch (Cedar Crest / So.) – Soccer: The sophomore midfielder scored 2 goals as the Falcons notched a 3-0 shutout over Twin Valley. The victory improved the team’s record to 2-1.

Tori Cisney (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Field Hockey: As the Dutchmen went 3-0, Cisney was a large part of them outscoring their opponents by a 28-5 margin. Cisney accounted for 8 goals and 4 assists. This total included her performance in Annville’s 7-1 win over Berks Catholic, during which the senior tallied 4 goals and an assist.

Scarlett Meyer (Lebanon / Jr.) – Tennis: Playing out the #4 Singles spot on Thursday, the junior clinched Lebanon’s victory over Donegal with a 6-3, 6-0 win. Earlier in the contest, Meyer paired with Whitney Bartal to win their Doubles match, 8-1.

Male Nominees

Garrett Bohn (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Soccer: The senior wing scored 2 goals and added 2 assists as the Vikings defeated Lebanon. In the next game against Middletown, Bohn scored 2 goals in the team’s 3-0 win. His 5 goals and 3 assists this season have helped pace Northern Lebanon to a 3-1 start.

Bryce Hoglund (ELCO / Sr.) – Soccer: The senior has solidified the Raider defense, as they have secured two shutouts this season with a 2-0 win over East Penn and a 1-0 win over Manheim Central. They also drew a 2-2 tie with Lampeter-Strasburg in a key, early-season Section 3 showdown.

Bryce Keller (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Football: In Annville’s 48-20 win over Hanover, the senior quarterback accounted for 6 touchdowns, rushing for five and throwing for one. In total, Keller carried the ball 15 times for 162 yards. Keller took over the QB role prior to the season when an injury to the starter forced the move from running back.

Dylan Ramsey (Cedar Crest / Jr.) – Golf: The junior shot a 66 (-6) at Four Seasons Golf Club. This effort, which was 5 strokes better than the nearest competitor, helped the Falcons to a 22 stroke win over Manheim Township to move to 15-0 on the season.

Joe Shkreli (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Soccer: The senior striker scored 2 goals as Cedar Crest defeated Governor Mifflin 2-1. Shkreli also registered an assist in the season-opening win over Lampeter Strasburg. Behind his solid play, the Falcons have started their first week of the season with a 2-0 record.
