Thursday, August 22nd
Non-League: ELCO, Northern Lebanon, & Tulpehocken @ Lebanon Valley Golf Club
On Thursday, ELCO and Northern Lebanon were joined by Tulpehocken for a non-league golf match at Lebanon Valley Golf Course. The visitors from Berks ruled the day, carding a 305 combined between their top four players. Northern Lebanon scored 330, while ELCO scored 365.
For the Vikings, Leland Kohr led the way with a 75 on the par 71 course. He was followed by Vinnie Battistelli (81), Collin Padovani (87) and Brian Bicksler (87).
The Raiders were led by Brett Wenger, who shot an 82. In the top four, He was followed by Brady Keath (84), Landon Rhodes (97), and James Dolan (102). Brady Habecker (105) and Owen Halpin (108) also golfed in the varsity competition.
Wednesday, August 21st
LL Section 4 @ Conestoga Country Club
On Wednesday, Section 4 had their second match of the season at Conestoga Country Club, the home course of Lancaster Country Day. Pequea Valley led the way with a 312 as a team, but it was Annville’s Logan Francis who was once again the top golfer. Francis carded an even-par 70. Also serving as counters for the Dutchmen were Wesley Heller (86), Kipton Heller (95), and Aidan Lezon (94). Also competing for Annville were Owen Wright (105) and the football team’s kicker, Cian Soliday (114).
Lebanon was there as well, but they did not complete a team score with only three golfers available. Ben DiScuillo led the way with a 95. Rolen Firestone (118) and Trinity Leaper (159) battled through the eighteen-hole course.
The team scores were as follows: Pequea Valley (312); Annville-Cleona (345); Lancaster Country Day (391); Lancaster Mennonite (396); Lancaster Catholic (447); Lebanon (No Score)
After two rounds of Section 4 golf, the standings are as follows:
Pequea Valley: 10-0
Annville-Cleona: 8-2
Lanc. Country Day: 5-5
Lanc. Catholic: 4-6
Lanc. Mennonite: 4-6
Lebanon: 0-10
They will be back in action on August 27th when Annville hosts their home course, Royal Oaks.
Tuesday, August 20th
LL Section 3 @ Pine Meadows
On Tuesday, Northern Lebanon hosted their Section 3 opponents at Pine Meadows. Once again, Lampeter-Strasburg finished the day as the top team with Addison Rosa leading the way with a 76 (+4) as the Pioneers totaled 311 strokes among their top four players.
The Vikings finished 2nd with a 345. Freshman Collin Padovani (84) matched his score from last week, as did Brian Bicksler (86) and Leland Kohr (86). Vinnie Battistelli (89) rounded out the scoring for Northern Lebanon. Also competing at the varsity level were Levi Shoemaker (99) and Aiden Long (107).
ELCO finished 4th on the day. They were led by Brady Keath (82). Scorers for the Raiders also included Brett Wenger (90), Landon Rhodes (95), and James Dolan (99). Each of the top four showed improvement over last week’s scores. Also competing in the varsity match were Brady Habecker (104) and Grant Wenger (107).
Team scores for the day were: Lampeter-Strasburg (311), Northern Lebanon (345), Donegal (353), ELCO (365), Octorara (385).
The Manheim Township Girls also competed in the group, but did not count towards the team standings. They finished with a 357.
The current standings in Section 3 are as follows:
Lampeter-Strasburg: 8-0
Northern Lebanon: 6-2
Donegal: 4-4
ELCO: 2-6
Octorara: 0-8
The teams will meet again on September 3rd for their third Section 3. That competition will take place at Meadia Heights, the home course of Lampeter-Strasburg.
Mid Penn Keystone @ Carlisle Barracks
The Palmyra Cougars took part in their second event of the season when they golfed the eighteen holes at the Carlisle Barracks. They finished 2-4 on the day with a team score of 347. They were led by top golfer AJ Horowitz (84). Reese Kowalski (86), Alex Irwin (87), and Brady Hughes (90) rounded out the varsity scoring.
