Girls Basketball Outlook: Palmyra

   Palmyra Cougars 2022-2023 Girls Basketball

In ‘21-’22, the Lady Cougars played well enough to nab the 12th seed in the District 3 5A Playoffs.  While they lost two of their starters from last year’s squad, there is much reason for optimism at Palmyra for this season.  Coach John Polly’s team will return three starters from last season: junior guard Keely Bowers; senior forward Maddie Henry; senior guard/forward Kaylee Brown.  While they are returning starters, the continued development of Bowers and Henry will help this team make a huge leap forward.  In addition to the starters, two additional rotation players from last year’s team are back; seniors Katy Pavusek and Maggie Webb.  Beyond the upperclassmen, there is hope that the underclassmen will add depth to the roster.  The goal for the season is for that development to carry them to a high finish in the competitive Keystone Division.  The mix of veteran leadership and the unrealized potential of the more inexperienced players could very well get them there.
