Palmyra Storms Past Northern York to Remain Perfect

Palmyra kept its strong start to the season going Tuesday night, earning a 17-2 road win over Northern York in girls lacrosse action. The victory pushed the Cougars to 3-0 on the year as they continued to build momentum heading into the early part of the schedule.

The Cougars once again showed off a balanced and explosive offensive attack. Ava Lantz led the way with 6 goals and 2 assists, while Eloise Frailey added 3 goals. Grace Frew contributed 2 goals and 3 assists, and Ella Detwiler finished with 2 goals and 2 assists. Lilly Ferretti also scored twice, Megan Isett posted 1 goal and 2 assists, and Marina Kemmlein-Colon found the back of the net once.

On the defensive end, Palmyra continued to make life difficult for the opposition. Brecken Benasutti came up with 5 caused turnovers and 2 ground balls, while Claire Busher added 1 caused turnover and 5 ground balls. In goal, Savannah Epler recorded 5 saves to help anchor the Cougars’ defensive effort.

Palmyra is now 3-0 and will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to face Lower Dauphin.
