Red Rose Midget Football League Age group information
v Solanco & Columbia
B (1-0) Falcons 20, Golden Mules 14 (OT)
C (1-0) Falcons 19, Golden Mules 13
D (0-1) Crimson Tide 25, Falcons 13
The Cedar Crest “B” Team opened the season in thrilling fashion with a 20–14 overtime win over Solanco. From the start, the game was defined by physical defense, with the Falcons’ line—anchored by Kamar Johnson—clogging running lanes and creating havoc in the backfield. Greg Harris and Caden Kane were outstanding in space, delivering open-field tackles to slow down Solanco’s power attack. The Falcon offense, guided by quarterback Torrence Hubbard and receiver Kane, moved the ball effectively but found the Golden Mules’ defense just as stout. After driving to the 3-yard line in the final moments of regulation, Cedar Crest was stopped short as time expired, sending the game to overtime. Solanco’s possession was cut short when Greyson Painter pounced on a fumble, giving the Falcons life. After miscues and a penalty pushed Cedar Crest back to 4th-and-goal from the 15, the Falcons reached into their bag of tricks. Cooper Stellar took the snap and delivered a perfect pass to Hubbard in the end zone for the game-winner, igniting the sideline and the crowd in a dramatic season-opening victory.
The “C” Team also delivered an exciting win, grinding out a 19–13 triumph over a tough Solanco squad. The offense leaned heavily on the backfield tandem of Boston Speece and Chase Reeseman, who kept the chains moving with consistent runs. Speece was the star of the afternoon, finding the end zone three times to account for all of the Falcons’ points. On defense, Cedar Crest showed grit and resilience, especially after turnovers gave the Golden Mules short fields. The “bend but don’t break” mentality paid off, as the Falcons came up with multiple stops on fourth down to swing momentum back in their favor. In the closing minutes, quarterback Mason Kleinfelter put the game on ice with a clutch keeper for a first down, allowing Cedar Crest to kneel out the clock. The victory showcased the team’s ability to stay composed under pressure while playing complementary football.
The “D” Team fought hard against Columbia, keeping things tied at 13–13 heading into the fourth quarter. The Falcons answered a Columbia score with another touchdown to briefly pull even, but the points were erased by a penalty. Columbia capitalized with a long run to take control and finish off a 25–13 win. Despite playing with just 14 players, Cedar Crest showed grit. Offensively, Nico Aungst broke free for several long runs, while defensively Leo Avila and Carson Bugg racked up solo tackles, with Matthew Hornick also making key contributions.
Up Next: The Falcons return to Earl Boltz Stadium next Sunday to face Conestoga Valley.

The Viking Midgets dominated Hershey 24–0, led by a trio of standout performers. Running back Sam Kline opened the scoring with a 15-yard swing pass touchdown, while Luke Bennethum added a second-quarter dive into the end zone. Kline then forced a fumble on the halftime kickoff, which quarterback Markus Miller quickly converted into a rushing touchdown. Kicker Titus Feagley was perfect on all three extra points, aided by snaps from center Greyson McQuaide. Blayze Kimm anchored the line with an outstanding performance on both sides of the ball, already showing promise as a Lineman of the Year candidate.
The Viking Peewees showed signs of improvement from last week but struggled to consistently move the ball into the end zone. Despite their best efforts and a few promising drives, the Trojans’ defense held firm, leaving the Vikings scoreless. Still, the team gained valuable experience and glimpses of potential that they can build on for upcoming matchups.
The Viking Pony team delivered a hard-fought victory over the Hershey Trojans, breaking through with a second touchdown to pull away late in the game. Strong running and smart play-calling were key as the Vikings capitalized on opportunities when they presented themselves. With the win, the Pony team showcased both determination and the ability to execute in tight situations.
Up Next: The Vikings return to action next Sunday at Carlisle.

Ponies (2-0) Cougars 19, Trojans 8
Pee Wees (1-1) Trojans 12, Cougars 0
Smurfs Exhibition/Skill Development
The Cougar Peewees battled hard but fell 12–0 to the Trojans. Several promising drives gave Palmyra chances to put points on the board, but they couldn’t quite finish in the red zone. Even so, the defense kept them in the game, showing improvement from last week and laying the groundwork for better results to come.
The Cougar Midgets dropped a nail-biter, 14–12, in a game that came down to the wire. After clawing back into contention, the Cougars had two opportunities to drive for a winning score in the final three minutes. Both drives showed promise but ended in turnovers, allowing Chambersburg to escape with the victory. While the result stung, Palmyra’s effort, toughness, and resiliency proved they can go toe-to-toe with quality competition.
The Pony Cougars closed the day on a high note, pulling out a 19–8 win over Chambersburg. Despite losing a starting receiver to injury in the first half, Palmyra regrouped and delivered a strong second-half performance. The defense made key stops to halt Trojan momentum, while the offense found its rhythm and powered in three scores. It was a complete team effort, giving the Cougars their first victory of the season.
Up Next: Palmyra will host Mechanicsburg on Sunday.
