Palmyra 3, Cedar Crest 0

The Cougars and Falcons locked up in South Lebanon on a sunny and warm Monday to finish out their respective seasons with a non-conference match-up. Coming into the game, Palmyra was comfortably inside the top ten in 5A District 3 power rankings, well inside the sixteen slots available. Cedar Crest was on the bubble at 12, the last transfer spot available in 6A. Jack Hathaway and Aiden Willard each notched two hits for Palmyra, while Hathaway, Ty Peck, and Braden Sommer each drove in a run. Jonathan Strohecker struck out four in two innings, while Braydon Bown picked up the win in relief. Clint Bricker and Ethan Lodish closed out the combined shutout in a “bullpen game” for the Cougars. Carson DiBiaso and Logan Oriel each collected a hit for the Falcons. Aaron Krumbine threw 1.1 innings for Crest, striking out three. As of publication time, Cedar Crest is still waiting to see if #13 Dallastown’s upset of #6 Northeastern will squeeze them out of a District 3 playoff berth.

ELCO 11, Tulpehocken 9

Gavin Bicher drove in four runs, including a bases-loaded triple in the fourth, to lead the Raiders past Tulpehocken on Military Appreciation Day at Lyle Krall Field. Bicher threw 2.1 innings in relief to earn the win in a back-and-forth game in which ELCO was down 3-1, up 4-3, and immediately gave up the lead to go down 7-4 before scoring seven in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead they would not relinquish. Morgan Shanaman and Bryant Auker each drove in a pair of runs, while Dallas GeorgeKody Boyer, and Ethan Spang each drove in one run. Austin Smith and Braden Gettle had two hits apiece on a busy night for the Raider offense. As of publication time, ELCO is in 8th in 4A District 3 power rankings and appears to be safe inside the top ten qualifiers.
