Annville-Cleona 7, Lebanon 2

The undefeated Dutchmen looked to run their early season win streak to four games when they hosted Lebanon. The Cedars scored a run in each of the first two innings to put Annville’s plans in jeopardy. However, starting pitcher Colton Shaffer recovered to pitch a solid 5.1 innings, giving up only one earned run while recording 10 Ks. Meanwhile, the bats got going, as Annville scored seven unanswered to close out the final five innings. Shaffer was his biggest helper, going 2-3 with a triple and 3 RBI. Jack Getty also had multiple hits, going 2-3 with a walk. Cam Connelly was 1-2 with two walks and an RBI. Noah Morcom tripled in the game, while his brother Ben Morcom pitched the final 1.2 innings, striking out four and shutting the door on any hopes of a Lebanon comeback.

Annville-Cleona (4-0) has a big game on Wednesday when they will travel to Lancaster Catholic in their first meeting since the Dutchmen upset them in last year’s District 3 Playoffs. Lebanon (0-3) will host ELCO on Monday. Box Score
