This Friday and Saturday, athletes from across Central Pennsylvania will gather at Shippensburg University’s Seth Grove Stadium for the District 3 Track & Field Championship Meet. The two-day meet will serve as the final step before the PIAA State Championship Meet, which will take place over Memorial Day Weekend.

Lebanon County will again be well represented, with qualifiers spread across both AA and AAA in sprints, distance races, hurdles, relays, jumps, and throws.

It is worth noting that the performance lists show which athletes qualified for each event, but qualifying does not necessarily mean an athlete will choose to compete in every event listed. Some athletes may scratch from certain events as coaches and athletes make strategic decisions ahead of the meet.

Several athletes will also return to Shippensburg with District 3 medals already on their resumes. In AAA, Cedar Crest’s Kaddel Howard returns as the defending District 3 champion in the 400m, while teammate Eliana Schneider returns after medaling in both the High Jump and Javelin last spring. Cedar Crest’s Travis Furmanski, Palmyra’s Jaxton Barger, and Cedar Crest’s Cameron Tirado also return after District medal-winning efforts in 2025.

In AA, Annville-Cleona brings back several athletes with District experience and success, including David Moran, the defending AA 800m champion, Mackenzie Stellmach, last year’s AA 3200m champion, and Oliver Funck, who medaled in both the 1600m and 3200m last spring.
