Lebanon County Championship Results

 

Softball

ELCO 4, Wyomissing 2 – Abby Hassler struck out 10 & gave up 4 hits over the course of 7 innings to lead the Raiders. ELCO trailed 1-0 going into the 4th, but were sparked by a Chole Shirk RBI single that tied the game. They then put up two more runs in the 5th, including a sacrifice fly by Gabby Smith. ELCO is now 13-3.

 

Baseball

ELCO 9, Conestoga Valley 8 – Aftter a rough patch in the middle of the game that saw ELCO down 8-5, the Raiders rallied with two runs in both the 5th & 6th innings to defeat the Buckskins. The rally was led by Liam Savitsky, who hit an inside-the-park home run in the 5th. Isaac Tanger finished the game with 3 RBI. John Stauffer earned the victory, giving up only one hit over the final two frames. ELCO is now 10-7.

Twin Valley 4, Cedar Crest 0 – Aaron Krumbine gave up only 4 hits in 4.1 innings, but 4 unearned runs, including 3 in the 1st inning, were enough to let the chance for victory escape him. Twin Valley pitching held the Falcons to just 3 hits. Cedar Crest is now 6-8.

Thursday, April 24

Softball

Central York 6, Northern Lebanon 3 – Central York, one of the top-ranked 6A schools, hosted the 4A Vikings on Thursday. NL gave their hosts a game, but a solid five-run 5th by CY was enough to put the game away. For the Vikes, Liv Shutter was 2-3 with a walk & Mykenah Johnson had 2 RBI.

Carlisle 15, Palmyra 11 – Kate Shenk was 3-5 with a triple & 3 RBI, but it was not enough as the Thundering Herd outlasted the visiting Lady Cougars.

Kutztown 9, Annville-Cleona 0

 

Baseball

Palmyra 5, Carlisle 3 – Braydon Bown struck out ten members of the herd over the course of 5 innings, giving up only 2 hits & 1 run, as the Cougars moved to 15-0 on the season. Offensively, a 5th inning solo shot by Aiden Willard put an exclamation point on the victory.

 

Boys Volleyball

Cedar Crest 3, Penn Manor 0 [25-20, 25-20, 25-22] – For the Falcons, standout performers included Jacob Alnoor (3 aces, 1 block), Aidan Vukovich (14 kills), Tyler Hackleman (15 digs), & Ryder Rohrer (32 assists).

 

Girls Lacrosse

Cedar Crest 19, Conrad Weiser 4 – Katelynn Brenner scored 5 times as the Falcons improved to 8-5 this season.

 

Boys Lacrosse

Cedar Crest 11, Conrad Weiser 7 – For the Falcons, Gage Yoder (1 goal, 4 assists) led the way while Grant Reesor & Nolan Brubaker each had 2 goals and an assist. Connor McCracken also found the back of the cage twice. Connor Rowe again dominated in faceoffs & Paxton Thomas stood like a wall in the cage, stopping 10 shots.

 

 

 

Wednesday, April 23

Softball

Northern Lebanon 15, Garden Spot 0 [F/3] – Stephanie Palkovic did not give up a hit to the visiting Spartans, while the Vikings got offensive firepower from several players, including Addison Hollenbach (3-3, 3 RBI), Liv Shutter (3-3, 2 RBI), & Mykenah Johnson (1-3, 2 RBI).

Annville-Cleona 10, Pequea Valley 4 – Danika Setlock went 3-4 with a home run & 3 RBI to pace the Dutchmen in the win. Faith Wagner also had 3 RBI. Temperance Brubaker & Zoe Miller combined for the victory.

Hempfield 18, Cedar Crest 3 [F/4] – Elli Malinoski went 1-2 with an RBI for the Falcons. However, the story of the game was opportunities created for Hempfield due to 8 errors. Of the 18 runs, only one was considered “earned”.

Lampeter-Strasburg 20, Lebanon 0 [F/4]

Donegal 7, ELCO 6 – The Indians scored 5 runs in the final two innings to get by the Raiders. For ELCO, Justine Geyer led the offense with 3 RBI.

 

 

Baseball

Lebanon 5, Lampeter-Strasburg 2 – Kevin Munoz hit a grand slam in the Top 7th as the Cedars rallied to defeat the Pioneers. Ben DiScuillo pitched 6 innings, giving up only 3 hits & 2 unearned runs, while racking up 11 Ks. David Furjanic was called up for the save. This was L-S’s first Section loss of the season.

Donegal 4, ELCO 3 [F/9] At the plate, Austin Smith went 4-5. On the mound, he pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 runs (0 ER) with 5 Ks. Unfortunately, Donegal won the game in extra innings to overcome Smith’s effort.

Northern Lebanon 11, Columbia 8 – A pesky Tide squad did not make it easy for the Vikings, who used a 7 run 4th inning to break the game open. Adrian Gonzalez & Owen Fahringer each had 2 RBI.

Hempfield 12, Cedar Crest 0 [F/5]

Pequea Valley 7, Annville-Cleona 0

 

Boys Tennis

Cedar Crest 5, Palmyra 0 – Viseth Meng, Joe Shkreli, & Nathan Meng won their Singles matches, while the partners Isaac Wolfe/Keygan Paquette & Ethan Rader/Austin Heibel won in Doubles to lead the Falcons to victory.

ELCO 5, Blue Mountain 2 – Brett Wenger & James Dolan picked up Singles victories, while the pairings of Lovell/Wenger, Dolan/Habecker, & Fisher/Keath completed the sweep of Doubles to give the Raiders the victory.

 

 

 

 

Tuesday, April 22

Softball

ELCO 26, Cocalico 4 [F/5] – Morgan Wilson, Abby Ruth, Kenzie Deeks, & Chloe Shirk each had 4 RBI.

Bishop McDevitt 10, Palmyra 4

 

 

Baseball

Palmyra 1, Bishop McDevitt 0 – The Cougars are now 14-0 behind a Jonathan Strohecker complete game shutout & a 1st inning run scored by Nate Osteen.

ELCO 7, Cocalico 3 – Gavin Bicher pitched 6 innings to earn the win before handing it over to Braden Gettle for the save. Gettle also had a 2 RBI double to pace the Raider offense.

ELCO 3, Cocalico 1 – This was a continuation of a game that had previously been suspended due to weather.

Annville-Cleona 21, Columbia 0 [F/3] – Annville also completed a 27-0 victory from an earlier game that had postponed.

Northern Lebanon 7, Donegal 4 – Addison Hollenbach struck out 13 batters in the complete game effort. Lynsie Mauser had 3 RBI & was a single short of the cycle.

Penn Manor 10, Cedar Crest 0 [F/6]

Ephrata 21, Lebanon 11 [F/5] – Sereniti Zidik recorded her 25oth career strikeout, while also going 3-4 with 2 RBI. Jenna Seyfert added to her Lebanon HR record when she hit a 3-run shot in the Bottom 5th.

 

Baseball

Northern Lebanon 13, Lancaster Mennonite 3 [F/5] – Vinnie Battistelli gave up 2 earned runs in 5 innings of work to pick up the win for the Vikings.

Lebanon 2, Warwick 1 – Diego Serrano had 8 Ks & gave up an unearned run in 5 innings before handing it off to David Furjanic to finish the victory over the Warriors.

Annville-Cleona 13, Columbia 1 [F/5] – Colten Shaffer had a HR & 4 RBI, while Traian Dompier earned the win on the mound for the Dutchmen.
