First Pitch

There was plenty of news during our fourth week of College Baseball as we saw twenty-one Lebanon County alumni in action up and down the eastern seaboard. The action included three guys who made their collegiate debut.

 Season Stats  / Upcoming Schedule

Senior 1B/OF Dalton Reinhart’s weekend started off with a one hit, one run, one RBI outing as the Mustangs pounded Rosemount College 13-1 on Friday (Game Story and Box Score). And while Stevenson didn’t win Saturday game one against Washington (MD) College, Reinhart’s offensive output paced his team. A two RBI homer (Video) gave Stevenson a 2-1 lead in the first followed by a ringing double off the wall and a two run single in the fourth, with Reinhart ending the game 3 for 4 with one run and 4 RBI in a 13-6 loss (Game Story and Box Score). He added a hit and a walk in game two, a 14-7 loss (Game Story and Box Score). Before heading south to Myrtle Beach, Stevenson hosted the McDaniel Green Terror for a Tuesday match up. Reinhart was 3 for 5 with a run in a 16-6 loss (Game Story and Box Score), pushing his average to .353 with a .905 OPS. Stevenson plays doubleheaders against University of Mary Washington and Rhode Island College and a single game with New England College over the weekend before hosting LVC and then entering MAC Commonwealth Conference play over the Ides of March.

Season Stats  / Upcoming Schedule

Bronson Coburn struck out six in four innings of work, drawing a no decision, as LBC defeated Rivier at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC (Game Story and Box Score). His scoreless outing dropped his ERA to below three on the year. He continues to be a versatile swing man for the Chargers, as he now has eight punchouts in seven innings. Against Houghton on Tuesday, Coburn again threw a sparkling inning in relief, allowing no runs and striking out one in a two touchdown blowout (Game Story and Box Score). With a 2.25 ERA and an average of 9.1 K per 9 innings of work, the sophomore righty figures to be busy as United East play starts on March 15 at home versus St. Mary’s (MD).

Season Stats  / Upcoming Schedule

The senior 1B notched an RBI on a sac fly as his eighteen game hitting streak came to an end as Messiah fell to #6 Johns Hopkins 8-2 on Thursday (Game Story and Box Score). Following seven games against ranked teams, Messiah traveled to Dickinson on Tuesday and their offense unloaded on the Red Devils in a 16-4 rout (Game Story and Box Score). Beard did his part, with a two RBI single in the first, an RBI “hustle double” in the second, and a two run home run in the fourth (Video). He finished the day 3 for 5 with a career-high seven RBI to pace the Falcons’ offense.

Following almost three weeks off due to scheduling issues, the Black and Gold returned to action against Goldey-Beacom in a two home/one away match up. Jones was on base all day in game one, with a hit, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI. In game two, he notched a hit and an RBI (Game Stories and Box Scores). The game one victory was win number 600 for Millersville skipper Jon Shehan. On Sunday, MU completed the sweep in Delaware, as Jones added two hits, a run, and a walk, swiping two bags in a 10-1 win (Game Story and Box Score).

While the game recap is not posted, online scoring shows that the senior C/RHP caught a couple innings against and notched an RBI double against Shenandoah (Online Score Link).

Due to a late NJCAA score posting, we missed Smith’s outing last week as he pitched an inning in relief in a win over NLAA (Box Score).

Junior RHP Austin Beard allowed three earned runs and took the loss on Friday for Monmouth (Game Story and Box Score), as George Mason put up thirty runs in a three game sweep of the Hawks. The high powered George Mason offense set an NCAA record on Tuesday versus Holy Cross, scoring twenty three runs in an inning (all earned) in a 26-6 win.

PSU Schuylkill posted late last week and we missed Collazo’s outing on February 25, 2025. He pitched one inning of scoreless relief in a loss to Lancaster Bible College (Game Story and Box Score).

York opened on March 1 with three games against #9 Lynchburg and were swept for their efforts. The Spartans had few baserunners in game one, managing a mere four hits and four walks, of which the junior RF had one in the 17-1 loss. Deimling’s two run single in the third inning of game two broke a scoreless tie, but Lynchburg prevailed 6-5 (Game Stories and Box Scores). Deimling was 1 for 3 with a walk and a double in the finale as York fell 5-1 (Game Story and Box Score). Deimling entered as a pinch hitter against F&M on Tuesday and added a hit in three plate appearances at DH (Game Story and Box Score).

Caleb Fisher picked up his second win with a two inning scoreless outing over Penn State Brandywine, allowing no hits and one walk (Game Story and Box Score).

Coming off a career six RBI day, Marks was hitless against Gettysburg in a two game set in which the Lions were swept by the Bullets (Game Stories and Box Scores).

Freshman RHP Conner Lane was thrown into the deep end for his first collegiate outing, as Division 3 Albright traveled to Division 1 Lehigh University for a midweek match up. Lane threw a solid inning in relief before giving way after a couple of hits (Game Story and Box Score).

Ethan Lodish picked up career win number 1 with a 4.2 inning outing in Florida. Allowing a stingy three hits and two walks, the freshman allowed one unearned run while punching out eight leading the Skipjacks to an 8-1 victory (Box Score).

Freshman RHP Gaven Schreier made his college debut in relief as LVC fell to SUNY Brockport. Schreier walked one and punched one out to hold SUNY at bay (Game Story and Box Score).
