Shortstop Amani Jones embarks on his final year of eligibility as the Millersville Marauders travel to Wingate, NC, to face the Wingate Bulldogs for a three-game set. Saturday started rough for Millersville on the mound, as Jones was hitless in a 9-7 loss. Game two was a bit tighter until MU plated seven runs in the seventh en route to a 10-4 win, a game in which Jones singled (Game Story and Box Score). The Marauders needed eleven innings on Sunday to notch a 6-4 win. Jones scored in the fourth after he reached on Catcher’s Interference (Game Story and Box Score). Despite a quiet start at the plate, Jones was perfect in ten chances in the field this past weekend. Millersville is off for two weeks, facing Clarion at Cooper Park in Millersville, likely turning on their new lights late in game two on Saturday.

Freshman RHP Dylan Fegley made his collegiate debut on February 2 as Fayetteville Tech defeated Guilford Technical Community College 9-3. Fegley entered the game in the fourth inning with FTCC up 3-2 and runners on. He allowed two hits over four innings, including one earned run while striking out four. The Box Score does not show him as the Winning Pitcher, but he should be credited with the win when the NJCAA website is updated. Fegley worked out of the bullpen again on Superbowl Sunday, notching an inning at the tail end of a 13-3 blowout (Box Score). The Trojans are off to a blistering 8-1 start and begin Region X play on Valentine’s Weekend.

The Southern Maryland website is not updated, but GameChanger shows that Robbie Best drew a walk and forced in a run in game two of a doubleheader sweep of Virginia Peninsula Community College.

Class of 2024

Freshman Keagen Kleinfelter took his first collegiate plate appearance on January 28 as a pinch hitter against Gulf Coast State College (Box Score) and was hitless in a 10-8 loss.  He drew a walk and forced in a run against John Melvin Christian College in a 14-2 win (Box Score). Kleinfelter then made his first collegiate start as Bishop State took on Spring Hill College JV. The leftfielder was 0 for 2 as Bishop State won 7-2 (Box Score).
