CROSS COUNTRY

District 3 Championships

In AA, Annville-Cleona claimed both the Boys & Girls Team Championships. The Dutchmen also had the Girls’ individual champion with Mackenzie Stellmach finishing first in a crowded field.

FIELD HOCKEY

District 3 Playoffs

AA: Palmyra 3, Spring Grove 0 – The Cougars outshot their opponent 14-0 on their way to the victory. They got goals from Jovie Weaver, AJ Walker, & Maddie Stahl. Assists came courtesy of Bri Eckenroth & Mallory Hudson. Next up in the District 3 Semis, Palmyra will face Warwick in Lititz on Wednesday night at 7 pm. With Saturday’s victory, they clinched a spot in the PIAA State Championship Tournament.

AA: Northern York 2, ELCO 0 – On Wednesday, ELCO host E-Town for a chance to stay alive in the hunt for a State Playoff berth. That clash will begin at 6 pm with the winner moving on to the District 3 – 5th place game.

GIRLS SOCCER

District 3 Playoffs

AAA: Palmyra 1, Fleetwood 0 – Ava Lindenmuth scored a 1st half goal on an assist by Delaney Miller and the Lady Cougar defense held the lead the rest of the way. Palmyra now moves onto the District 3 semifinals where they will play top-seeded Lower Dauphin on Monday night, 6 pm at Lower Dauphin Middle School. Palmyra is guaranteed two games and will need to win one to qualify for States.

Wednesday, October 23

Field Hockey

District 3 Playoffs

AA: Palmyra 9, Gettysburg 0 – AJ Walker tallied an early goal & Palmyra never relented. Hadley Hoffsmith scored a hat trick and added an assist, while Bri Eckenroth added two goals. Maddi Stahl, Maddy Waldron, & Ava High also scored in the rout. In addition to Hoffsmith, Leigha Kane, Jovie Weaver, Mallory Hudson, & Waldron each had an assist. #4 Palmyra will host #5 Spring Grove on Saturday (11 am)

AA: ELCO 1, Cocalico 0 – Jordan Rivera scored the overtime goal to give the Raiders the 1st round victory. In the quarterfinal round, #2 ELCO will host #7 Northern York on Saturday (11 am)

A:  Greenwood 3, Annville-Cleona 0

 

GIRLS SOCCER

District 3 Playoffs

A: New Covenant 2, Delone Catholic 1 – Miracle Hershey scored twice to lead the Flames to the victory. They will face Lancaster Mennonite on Saturday in the semifinals.

AAAA: Hempfield 3, Palmyra 0 [25-21, 25-14, 25-17]

 

 

Tuesday, October 22

GOLF

PIAA Championships

AAA: In the 2nd round, Dylan Ramsey carded an even par 72 to finish the 36 holes six-under par. This placed the Cedar Crest junior in a tie for 2nd place, as Fox Chapel’s Carson Kittsley caught fire to shoot a five-under on his final nine holes. With his silver medal, Ramsey now has two State medals, having won the 2022 State Championship.

AA: After shooting an eight-over 80 on Monday, Annville-Cleona’s Logan Francis rebounded to shoot a two-under 70 on Tuesday. This moved him from 42nd to a tie for 18th place overall.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

District 3 Playoffs

AAAA: Cedar Crest 3, Warwick 2 (OT) – Perrin Young scored the game-winner to send the Lady Falcons into the Quarterfinals where they will play #1 Central Dauphin.

AA: Susquenita 4, Annville-Cleona 2 – Rowan Ulrich scored two unassisted goals, but it was not enough as Annville’s season came to an end after recorded an impressive 12-4-2 record.

Monday, October 21

GOLF

PIAA Championships

AAA: Dylan Ramsey was hot early, finding birdies in five of his first six holes. With only one bogey on the day, Ramsey finished 66 (-6) and sits atop the AAA leaderboard going into the 2nd & final round. If he can remain in the top position, Ramsey will become the first ever Pennsylvania golfer to be a two-time State Champion. The Cedar Crest junior shocked everyone when he won States as a freshman.

AA: Annville’s Logan Francis finished the first 18 holes with a 80 (+8) and will enter Day 2 tied for 42nd in the AA competition.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

District 3 Playoffs

AAA: Donegal 1, ELCO 1 (PK 4-3) – Madison Nelson scored for the Raiders, but following a deadlock through overtime, the game was decided with penalty kicks with Donegal finding a 4-3 victory.

AAA: Palmyra 2, York Suburban 0 – Delaney Miller was assisted by Kenzie Long as the Lady Cougars took a 1-o lead. Long then added an insurance goal as the #12 seed pulled the upset on the road.
