2024 LebCo All-County Baseball Team

Below are the nominees for the 2024 LebCo All-County Baseball Team. The list of nominees was a tough one to compike and we need your help choosing the top Offensive Player, Pitcher, and Rookie.

Please read the nominations and then go to the linked form to cast your vote for who you feel deserves top honors.

Quick Recap

Annville-Cleona: Finished 13-8. Qualified for District 3 AAA Playoffs.

Cedar Crest: Finished 10-11. Qualified for District 3 AAAAAA Playoffs.

ELCO: Finished 14-11. Finished as District 3 AAAA runner-up. Qualified for PIAA State Championship Playoffs.

Lebanon: Finished 3-17. A tough opponent, they lost six one-run games.

Northern Lebanon: Finished 18-3. Won the Lancaster Lebanon League Section 4 Championship and qualified for the District 3 AAAA Playoffs.

Palmyra: Finished 15-9. Qualified for District 3 AAAAA Playoffs, picking up two wins and finishing 6th.

The Nominees

Offensive Player of the Year

Dallas George (ELCO / Sr.)

The senior touted .338 batting average with 25 hits, leading the team with his .495 OBP. He crossed the plate 25 times for the Raiders as they made the State Championship Tournament. In fact, he had three multi-hit games during the District Playoff run that netted ELCO a silver medal finish. George added 15 RBI during his senior season.

Moises Gonzalez (Northern Lebanon / Sr.)

Gonzalez had a solid senior season, as he posted a .469 batting average while totaling 31 RBI and scoring 29 runs for the LL Section 4 Champion Vikings. He had 30 hits, 18 of which went for extra bases. Of those, 8 were home runs. As a result, his slugging % was an outstanding 1.078. Gonzalez had an OBP of .609 and struck out only 9 times in 87 plate appearances. He added 11 steals. Not only was Gonzalez a 1st Team – LL Section 4 selection, he was also named 1st Team All-State (4A).

Gavin Bicher (ELCO / Jr.)

The junior led the Raiders with a .372 batting average as they finished as the District 3 AAAA runner-up and made an appearance in the PIAA State Championship Tournament. He had 32 hits and accounted for 22 RBI. He had an 11-game hit streak during ELCO’s late-season run. His biggest hit was a grand slam against Garden Spot. Throughout the season, Bicher showed incredible plate discipline, striking out only 5 times in 90 at-bats. He was selected 1st Team – LL Section 3.

Colten Shaffer (Annville-Cleona / Jr.)

Shaffer was just as dynamic at the plate as he was on the mound for the Dutchmen. He batted .439 with a .553 OBP. His 28 RBI came via 25 hits, 11 of which were for extra bases and a included a trio of home runs. In addition to batting average, OBP, and RBI, Shaffer also led the team with a .739 slugging %. He was selected 1st Team – LL Section 4.

Andrew Via (Northern Lebanon / So.)

The sophomore led the Vikings with a .477 batting average and a .561 OBP. He totaled 31 hits. While on the basepaths, the aggressive Via stole 27 bases. Via was named 2nd Team All-State.

Pitcher of the Year

Morgan Shanaman (ELCO / Sr.)

Though limited by injury early in the season, Shanaman loomed large for the Raiders as they made their run to the PIAA State Championship Tournament. He won 2 playoff games, going the distance in each. For the season, he posted a 3.10 ERA in 45.1 innings. He was selected 1st Team – LL Section 3 and named 2nd Team All-State.

Brian Bicksler (Northern Lebanon / Jr.)

The junior went 7-1 for the Vikings, posting a 1.44 ERA over the course of 52 innings. Of his 8 starts, he went the distance 7 times, including 1 complete game shutout. He held opponents to a .209 batting average and struck out 44 opposing batters. A clutch performer, Bicksler earned two wins each over both Lancaster Catholic and Annville-Cleona. He was a 2nd Team – LL Section 4 selection.

Ben DiScuillo (Lebanon / Jr.)

The junior was the top pitching option for the Cedars, logging 39.2 innings in 8 appearances. During those outings, he posted a 2-3 record while recording a 3.00 ERA. DiScuillo struck out 33 while holding opposing hitters to a .244 batting average. For his efforts, he was selected 2nd Team – LL Section 2.

Colten Shaffer (Annville-Cleona / Jr.)

The junior was #1 option for the Dutchmen as they qualified for the District 3 Playoffs. He posted an impressive 1.07 ERA over the course of 11 outings, going 6-4 with a save. He struck out 71 batters in 45.2 innings. Shaffer held opponents to a .145 batting average. He was selected 1st Team – LL Section 4.

Jonathan Strohecker (Palmyra / Jr.)

The top arm for the Cougars, Strohecker started 9 games, going 4-2 while posting a 1.24 ERA (8 earned runs). In total, he pitched 45 innings, striking out 61 batters while issuing only 8 walks. Opposing hitters batted .186 against him as he tallied a .889 WHIP. In the District 3 Playoffs, Strohecker earned wins over Hershey and South Western. He was selected 1st Team – Mid Penn Keystone.

Adrian Gonzalez (Northern Lebanon / So.)

In 10 starts, Gonzalez threw 6 complete games, including 3 shutouts on his way to a 6-3 record. In 62 innings, he held opponents to a .173 batting average and struck out 72. For the season, his ERA was an impressive 0.79, as he only surrendered a total of 7 earned runs. He did not allow an extra base hit all season. Gonzalez was a 1st Team – LL Section 4 selection and also named 2nd Team All-State.

Rookie of the Year

Aaron Krumbine (Cedar Crest / Jr.)

The junior served as a key weapon for the Falcons, often shutting down opponents with his unique submarine-style delivery. In 9 appearances, he pitched 13.2 innings, posted a 1.02 ERA, and was credited with 2 victories. He struck out 15 batters while holding opponents to a .148 batting average. He twice faced Hempfield, the eventual State Champion, not allowing a baserunner in the 1.1 innings he threw.

Traian Dompier (Annville-Cleona / So.)

The sophomore played a key role for the Dutchmen, especially down the stretch, as he drove in 5 runs in Annville’s final four games. His .473 OBP showed extreme plate discipline as he walked 15 times. Taking advantage of his time on the basepaths, he successfully swiped 9 bases. Defensively, Dompier had a .960 fielding %. He also pitched in 8 games, posting a 2.94 ERA over 16.2 innings of work in which he struck out 21 batters. He was selected as  Honorable Mention – LL Section 4.

Braden Gettle (ELCO / So.)

After making the jump from JV, Gettle became a key member of ELCO’s State qualifying team, posting a .286 batting average with a .386 OBP in 18 games. He drove in 7 runs and also scored 7 times. In 50 plate appearances, Gettle only struck out 4 times.

Logan Kriner (Palmyra / So.)

The sophomore started 8 games for the Cougars, posting a 5-3 record. In 39.2 innings, Kriner posted a 2.12 ERA while striking out 57 batters. He held opposing hitters to a collective batting average of .152. He was named a 2nd Team – Mid Penn Keystone selection.
