McCaskey @ Cedar Crest – Full Results
Boys: McCaskey 81, Cedar Crest 69
Last year, Cedar Crest defeated a strong McCaskey unit on their home turf. This year, Lancaster repaid the favor by dominating on the Track. Travis Furmanski was the lone Cedar Crest event winner in the running events, taking the 3200m (9:59.7). There were several excellent performances that took 2nd places, including Charlie Joffey’s 51.3 in the 400m and Jeremiah Santiago’s 22.8 in the 200m.
Cedar Crest struck back in the Field. Dylan Groff won three events: Javelin (177’5”), Long Jump (20’8.25”), Triple Jump (40’11.5”). Alex Kissinger won the Discus (135’0”) and Shot Put (48’1.5”), narrowly besting teammate Tristan Long (48’). Cameron Tirado took 1st in the High Jump (6’), defeating his brother Leo Tirado who also went 6’. Cristian Viveros added a win in the Pole Vault (11’3”).
Girls: McCaskey 87.3, Cedar Crest 62.7
Cedar Crest and McCaskey met once again in the last meet of the year to determine the Section 1 Champions. McCaskey has been a powerhouse in recent years, but given Cedar Crest’s depth and star power, the meet offered one of the premier matchups in Pennsylvania.
Kaddel Howard had a career day that should set her up nicely for the postseason. She won the 100m (11.8), 200m (24.4), and 400m (54.6) with outstanding times. Eliana Schneider also won three individual events, taking the 1600m (5:22), Javelin (132’6″), and High Jump (4’10”). Ruby Wolfe added a victory in the Pole Vault (10’6″). However, McCaskey proved to be too strong and was able to limit the damage done by the talented Falcon line-up.
Despite the outcome, Cedar Crest continued to compete with pride. With the meet already decided, Howard was joined by Hayden Wamsher, Makenzie Wamsher, and Opeyemi Ojo to take the 4x400m (4:02).
