Track & Field: ELCO & Lebanon Impress at Henderson Invitational – Full Results

On Friday evening, one of Pennsylvania’s most elite Track & Field events of the season took place at West Chester Henderson High School. The Henderson Invitational carries stringent entry standards that guarantee a high level of competition. Even in the Boys’ Novice 1600m, a runner had to have a verified sub-5:00 to enter. This year’s meet drew 105 teams from across the region, including some of Pennsylvania’s most elite private schools. A select group representing ELCO and Lebanon was among the large crowd of athletes taking part in the hyper-competitive meet.

Our local contingent provided several highlights. ELCO’s 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams were both comprised of Luke Macchione, Camden Marquette, Ben Macchione, and Chad Keller. The move by ELCO’s distance coach, Mike Harnish, to move Luke Macchione to the relay team immediately paid dividends, with the foursome combining their talents to take silver in the 4x800m with a time of 8:06.8. They then earned a 4th place medal, running 3:31.3 in the 4x400m.

The ELCO relays were not the only Raiders to earn medals, as Makenna Haas got in on the fun with a bronze medal finish in the Triple Jump (36’7.5″).

For Lebanon, the biggest performance came courtesy of Ramon Urena Batista. The senior took on the 3200m and ran a 9:30.2 to set the Lebanon School Record previously held by Caleb Hershey (2022). Sprinter Jalik Hill finished with 12th and 11th place finishes in the 200m and 400m, respectively. His time of 50.74 in the quarter-mile was a new PR. Junior Gavin Sheetz had a big PR in the 1600m, running a 4:38.1.

Below are the results for each of our LebCo athletes who competed at the Henderson Invitational. They are divided by team. Medal winners are highlighted burnt orange
