Thursday, March 28
ELCO 16, Lebanon 1 [F/3]
ELCO hosted Lebanon on Thursday afternoon, with the Cedars challenging the host team early. The Raiders used a ten-run 2nd inning to put the game out of reach. Another four runs in the 3rd ended the contest. Abby Hassler led the ELCO effort, going 2-3 with 4 RBI, including a 3-run HR. Hassler was also on the mound, registering 8 Ks and giving up one earned run. Kenzie Deeks also accounted for 2 RBI. The Cedars were led by Jenna Seyfert, who went 2-2. Ana Weaber drove in Serenti Zidik for Lebanon’s lone run.
After the game, ELCO Coach Allen Phillips took to social media to praise the Cedars: “Shout out to Lebanon Cedars on their ongoing growth. This score does not necessarily reflect the game. Cedars had us nervous early, but Hassler battled hard out of a couple of jams, striking out all but one batter. Lebanon Softball will be a powerhouse sooner than later!”
ELCO (3-0) will host Donegal on Wednesday in a key Section 3 matchup. Also, on Wednesday, Lebanon (0-3) will travel to Conestoga Valley. Box Score

Palmyra (0-2) next plays on Monday at Bishop McDevitt.
Monday, March 25
ELCO 4, Annville-Cleona 3
In a tight contest between two of the area’s best, ELCO grabbed an early lead before coming back late to defeat the Dutchmen. Danika Setlock led Annville in a three-run 2nd inning to give her team the 3-2 lead. Setlock finished the game going 3-4 with 2 RBI, while hitting a double and a triple. ELCO would tie it in the 5th before walking it off in the 7th when Gabby Smith connected for a home run. Smith also pitched three scoreless innings, striking out 6. Also aiding ELCO in the win was Abby Hassler, who went 2-3 with a triple and an RBI.
Annville-Cleona (1-1) host Kutztown on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, ELCO (2-0) will host Lebanon.
Reading 12, Lebanon 2 [F/5]
In three plate appearances, Lebanon’s Sereniti Zidik had three hits that included a double and a triple. Zidik also pitched a complete game, giving up 6 earned runs while punching out 11 batters. The Cedars (0-2) head to ELCO on Wednesday. Box Score
Ephrata 17, Cedar Crest 0 [F/4]
Ephrata’s Elliana Meier shut down the Falcons with a four inning, twelve strikeout perfect game. Cedar Crest (0-2) will have off until next Wednesday when they travel to Penn Manor.
