Dutchmen Bring the Heat in Section 3 Sweep at Donegal

Fresh off Friday night’s Lebanon County Track & Field Championship Meet, Annville-Cleona traveled to Donegal on Monday for Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3 action.

With warm weather creating the opportunity for strong late-season performances, the Dutchmen made the most of the trip. Annville-Cleona swept the dual meet, with the girls earning a 92.5-56.5 win and the boys picking up an 80-64 victory.

Girls Recap: Annville-Cleona 92.5, Donegal 56.5

The Annville-Cleona girls put together a strong team effort, using depth across the distance events, hurdles, relays, throws, and jumps to pull away from Donegal.

Madison Long helped lead the way with wins in both the Long Jump (15’8″) and Triple Jump (32’9″), while the Dutchmen also picked up key field-event wins from Jenna Ulrich in the High Jump (4’6″) and Anabella Pulaski in the Javelin (101’4.5″).

On the track, Annville-Cleona controlled several distance events. Mackenzie Stellmach won the 1600m (5:53.0) and 3200m (12:52.4), with Lucy Stellmach finishing second and Leah Rotunda placing third in the 3200m to complete a Dutchmen sweep. Leah Tshudy won the 800m (2:36.5), with Paige Stoltz and Gracie Troxell following in second and third.

Donegal’s top performers included Mariam Shaker, who won the 100m (12.8) and 200m (27.0), along with Aiyanna Lambert, who won both the Shot Put and Discus.

Boys Recap: Annville-Cleona 80, Donegal 64

The Annville-Cleona boys also came away with a strong road win, using big performances in the distance events, throws, jumps, and relays to defeat Donegal.

David Moran was once again a key piece of the Dutchmen lineup, winning the 400m (49.3) and 800m (2:17.7), while also taking second in the 200m. Annville-Cleona also won the 4x100m Relay, with the team of Jaylynn Moyer, Sam Cantor, Logan Radocha, and Moran clocking a 45.7.

In the distance events, Oliver Funck won the 1600m (4:44.4), while Benjamin Boyd won the 3200m (10:03.2). The Dutchmen went 1-2-3 in the 3200m, with Hunter Troxell placing second and Funck taking third.

Ben Allwein delivered a big day in the jumps, winning both the Triple Jump (40’9.75″) and High Jump (5’8″), while also placing second in the Long Jump (20′).

The throws were another major strength for Annville-Cleona. Luke Wentling won the Javelin (142’2″), while Dominic Wentling swept the Shot Put (53’5″) and Discus (148’2″). Hudson Sellers added runner-up finishes in both the Javelin and Discus.

Donegal was led by Colton Houck, who won the 110m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles, while Siji Akinrinwoye won the 100m and Isaiah Omisakin took the 200m.

What’s Next?

With the sweep, Annville-Cleona’s boys improved to 4-3, while the girls moved to 3-4. The Dutchmen will finish up their dual meet season next Monday when they host Lancaster Catholic before turning their attention to the Lancaster-Lebanon League Championship Meet next weekend.
