Grant Reesor

During the week of April 6th, Cedar Crest’s Grant Reesor put together the kind of stretch that made him one of the most productive boys lacrosse players in the area.
Over 3 games, Reesor exploded for 25 points on 13 goals and 12 assists while helping power Cedar Crest’s offense. The junior attacker also added 18 ground balls and 8 caused turnovers during the week, continuing a season that has already seen him break school records. Those efforts earned Reesor recognition as a LebCo Athlete of the Week.
“I had a great couple of games with high-scoring performances, which helped propel my team to some wins on the season,” said Reesor.
The big week was just the latest example of the level Reesor has reached this spring. Already the Lancaster-Lebanon League leader in goals through 9 games with 40, Reesor has been one of the driving forces behind Cedar Crest’s attack while continuing to build one of the best scoring seasons in program history. He has also added 24 assists, helping Cedar Crest to a 5-4 record at the midway point of the season.
In an early season game against Dallas, Reesor even set the Cedar Crest record for most points in a game with 13, scoring 10 goals and adding 3 assists.
For Reesor, the goals are both individual and team-centered.
“My personal goals are to keep performing and keep breaking more and more Cedar Crest scoring records, along with helping my team win more games along the way,” said Reesor.
That mindset has made him a natural fit within the Falcons’ bigger picture. Reesor said he has embraced being both a key contributor and a leader for Cedar Crest as the team looks to perform at its highest level.
“I have fit extremely well into the goals and have been a key player and leader for my team to help us perform in the best way possible,” said Reesor.

Cedar Crest head coach Jack Wuori said Reesor’s production is matched by the way he carries himself every day.
“Grant is easily one of the best players I’ve had the honor to coach,” said Wuori. “He is hardworking, humble, and selfless. You wouldn’t know he is our leading scorer by talking to him, because he gives all the credit to his teammates and does whatever the team needs to be successful.”
Wuori said Reesor’s role has evolved from last season, when he led the Falcons in assists with 33 and helped facilitate the offense, to this spring, when Cedar Crest has asked him to be even more aggressive as a scorer.
“Last year, he led our team in assists with 33 and shared the ball well in our offense,” said Wuori. “This year, we’re asking him to shoot and score more. Through 9 games, he has 40 goals and 24 assists. He is producing points at an unprecedented rate this year and has already broken several team records.”
Wuori also pointed to the intangibles that have helped make Reesor such an important piece of the program.
“His work ethic is unmatched, and he is a naturally gifted leader, being elected captain by his teammates this season and leading by example each and every day at practice,” said Wuori. “Grant’s a special player and a great young man. I’m so proud of the season he’s having, and I’m excited to see him continue to lead and dominate on the lacrosse field.”

Reesor made sure to credit the people around him for helping shape his success.
“My friends, family, coaches, and all my teammates have pushed me and helped me accomplish all of my success,” he said. “My dad especially has helped make me the player I am today because of all the coaching he has given me throughout my life.”
Outside of lacrosse, Reesor also plays soccer for Cedar Crest and at the club level. Looking ahead, he said one of his long-term goals is to break Cedar Crest’s all-time scoring record before taking that same competitive mindset with him to the next level.
He plans to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level, attending Hood College, where he will play both soccer and lacrosse.
“I want to break the all-time scoring record at Cedar Crest and go into college and attempt to do the same thing and perform at a higher level,” said Reesor.
As an indicator that he is always focused on his goals, Reesor said much of his free time is spent weightlifting and doing other physical training.
What Reesor enjoys most about sports comes down to the challenge and excitement that come with competition.
“The competition and the feeling of winning a big game or making a big play,” said Reesor.
Congratulations to Grant on earning LebCo Athlete of the Week honors, and best of luck to Reesor and the Falcons as they continue chasing more wins this season.
