Palmyra started its girls lacrosse season on a winning note Wednesday, earning an 11-8 home victory over Warwick in a competitive season opener.
The Cougars leaned on a balanced offensive effort to get the job done. Eloise Frailey led the attack with 3 goals, while Ava Lantz totaled 2 goals and 3 assists. Ella Detwiler added 2 goals, and Grace Frew, Lily Ferretti, and Megan Isetteach contributed 1 goal and 1 assist. Bella Kenes also found the net, and Izzy Ott added 1 assist.
On the defensive side, Brecken Benasutti made her presence felt with 3 ground balls and 4 caused turnovers, while Savannah Epler recorded 5 saves in goal to help Palmyra close out the win.
Palmyra is now 1-0 and will host Ephrata on Thursday.
