Northern Lebanon 40, Big Spring 36
On Monday night, the Lady Vikings hosted Big Spring in the first half of a double-header, the first games played in Northern Lebanon’s new facilities. Riding the excitement, Northern Lebanon raced out to a 15-7 lead in the 1st quarter, behind 8 points from Saoirse Phillips and 5 points from Hayley Sheroky.
Big Spring settled down in the 2nd quarter, cutting Northern Lebanon’s lead to 2 by halftime (22-20).
In the 3rd quarter, Big Spring continued to chip away and actually took a 32-30 lead going into the 4th.
The Lady Vikings did not fold, shutting down Big Spring defensively in the final quarter, limiting them to just 4 points. Meanwhile, Kasey Weimer scored 7 points as Northern Lebanon came back for the victory.
Phillips finished with a game-high 17 points, Sheroky added 12, and Weimer contributed 9 points.
Northern Lebanon (1-0) will return to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Upper Dauphin.
