Red Rose Midget Football League Age group information 

The Red Rose Midget Football League will begin play during Labor Day Weekend.

Up Next:  The Falcon Youth Football teams will have their first games this Sunday when they host Warwick.

      Myerstown Panthers

Berks Area Youth Football League Age group information

The Midgets set the tone with a commanding 32-0 victory. Braiden Harris started strong with a 40-yard kickoff return, followed by a handoff to Bentley Landis for the first touchdown. The defense was relentless, with Harris and Matthew White contributing key sacks. In the second quarter, Harris executed a brilliant 20-yard fake run, leading to a touchdown by Landis and a successful two-point conversion. The Panthers continued to dominate, with Harris adding another two touchdowns. The game was sealed in the fourth quarter with an interception, and another touchdown run by Dalton Kohr off a fumble recovery.

The Mites division secured a convincing 33-6 win, fueled by explosive offensive plays and strong defense. Corbin Showalter opened the game with a 60-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, followed by a 50-yard run for another score. Tucker Robert extended the lead with a 30-yard touchdown, and Owen Hall scored just before halftime. In the third quarter, Showalter added a 15-yard touchdown, with Bennett Staudt converting the two-point attempt. Defensively, the Panthers were solid, with Chase Clubb and Jackson Ruth making key tackles, and Deacon Pyszka sealing the win with an interception.

The Mighty Mites capped off the day with a 25-6 victory. Patrick Lehman set the pace with a 25-yard touchdown on the first offensive play. Logan Witmer made back-to-back sacks, and Gabriel Vincent added a 45-yard touchdown run. Lehman struck again with a 60-yard touchdown, ending the first quarter at 19-0. In the third quarter, Joseph Noll’s 40-yard run set up Lehman’s final touchdown, extending the lead to 25-0. The Mighty Mites maintained control throughout, rounding out a successful day for the Myerstown Panthers.

Up Next: Following a bye on account of Labor Day, the Panthers will be back in action on September 8th when they host the Muhlenberg Muhls.

All four levels of Northern Lebanon Midget Football took to the field on Saturday, August 24th, for their first official games of the season! The Vikings swept Lower Dauphin with wins at the Peewee, Pony, and Midget levels. Not to be forgotten, the talented Viking cheerleaders took to the field for the first time this season!

It took the Viking Midgets only six plays to score on their opening drive. Vinny Moyer took a toss three yards in for their first touchdown. They never took their foot off the gas pedal. Several Vikings found the end zone in this game: RB/WR Johnathan Zimmerman, RB Vinny Moyer, and WR Ty Martin. Quarterbacks Markus Miller and Sam Kline each threw TD passes. Again this year, the line is made up of big, athletic 7th and 8th graders that help to create holes on offense and big plays on defense. The midget Vikings created four turnovers on Saturday, with two interceptions by Safety Nolan Anspach and one each for Jonathan Zimmerman and Luke Bennethum. Bennethum also recovered a fumble caused by Defensive Tackle Blayze Kimm. The strong effort on both sides of the ball resulted in the 42-6 victory.

The Northern Lebanon Smurfs started the 2024 season with a defensive showcase against the Lower Dauphin Falcons. The young Vikings marched into the Lower Dauphin red zone on the opening drive, only to stall before reaching the endzone. The Viking defense swarmed the Falcons on their ensuing possession, and both teams entered halftime scoreless. On the first possession of the second half, the Falcons broke through the middle of the Viking defense for a long touchdown run. The Vikings answered with key runs from Axle Geibe and Cooper Wonderley. A Trey Moyer block sprung QB Grady Wiest for the game-tying touchdown. The Vikings finished the game by playing aggressive team defense, with big plays from Clayton Meyer and Gabe Rice.
