#9 Palmyra 7, #8 Hershey 3 (District 3 5A – First Round)

Jonathan Strohecker (WP, 4ip, 1 Unearned Run, 7K), Braydon Bown (2ip, no runs), and Ethan Lodish (1ip, two runs/one earned) shut down the Hershey offense and outdueled the Trojan ace to lead the Cougars to victory in the opening round of districts. Palmyra jumped out to a five run lead in the top of the first, opening up with consecutive singles from Kaden Readinger, Aiden Willard, and Chase Blanchard. A wild pitch, an infield error, a single by Nate Osteen and a single by Julian Meley rounded out the scoring for the Cougars in the opening frame. Alex Dorta added an RBI single in the second and Willard singled home a run in the third as the PHS pitching held Hershey at bay. The Trojans scored once in the second and twice in the seventh as they drop to the consolation bracket.

#5 Manheim Township 11, #12 Cedar Crest 1 (District 3 6A – First Round)

A mere eighteen days ago, Cedar Crest knocked off the Blue Streaks who barely qualified for leagues, which they subsequently won after getting hot at the right time. On Friday, the Streaks continued their streak. Three Falcon errors in the 3rd led to a catastrophic eleven run inning by the opportunistic Manheim Township squad.  This led to Crest being sent home early in the District 3 6A tourney. Owen Brown had two hits and the only RBI for Crest, while Vincent Good drew two walks and Jackson Custer added a hit.
