New Covenant Girls Basketball Season Outlook
Last season, the Flames fought hard every game. They hope to build on last year’s experience as they return three starters this season: Alyssa Quiñones (Sr.), Miracle Hershey (Jr.), and Keira Kantner (Jr.). Renee Dunkley (Sr.) is also returning and looks to take on a more significant role as this group hopes to provide leadership and stability as they look to improve. That said, Coach Buffenmeyer will have to manage her roster with only eight players. In that small group, they also have three freshmen who should see some solid minutes. This unit includes point guard Qynne Demler, who has shown previously that she has a solid basketball IQ. The major challenge will be the size of the roster, but those in the know realize that there is a lot of athleticism that could help New Covenant lessen the impact that there aren’t many of them.
