     Lebanon Cedars 2022-2023 Girls Basketball

This is an exciting time for Lebanon Cedars Girls Basketball, as they are on the verge of something special.  The 2021-2022 season brought renewed hope to the once strong program, as they finished the season 15-9 and were crowned Section Two Champions.  While they did lose some talented players to graduation, some of the team’s top players were only freshmen.  Kailah Correa was a dominant scoring threat (499 points) and was named as an All-State Second Team selection.  Lebanon also benefited from the strong play of fellow freshman Liliana Harrison (L-L Section Two – Second Team All-Star).  While losing players like Madison Bishop, Dorthie Zechman, and Olivia Uffner will hurt, the optimism for the future is very strong.

Going into the 2022-2023, Coach Jaime Walborn’s main goal is to maintain the positive energy, while continuing to build a winning culture in the move to Section One.  She points out that the Cedars “are young, but have experienced players in each position”, but that this “group has been playing together for quite some time”.  This includes the arrival of freshman Olive Brandt, whose shooting and on-court awareness will help to open up the floor even further for the team’s other offensive threats.  With the amount of depth that Lebanon will be able to put out on the floor each game, along with legitimate top tier talent, the Cedars will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with in the Lancaster-Lebanon League.
