Reesor Breaks Assist Record, Thomas Adds to Save Record in Cedar Crest Victory
On Thursday, Cedar Crest began its final three-game stretch of the regular season with a road trip to Lancaster Country Day for a non-league matchup. The Falcons used another big performance from Grant Reesor and a steady defensive effort to come away with an 8-5 win, improving to 7-9 with two games left on the schedule.
Reesor led the Cedar Crest offense with four goals and two assists, adding another milestone to what has already been a record-setting season. Early in the 1st quarter, he recorded his 35th assist of the year, breaking the all-time program record for assists.
The Falcons also got goals from Jaxon Bechtold, Nolan Brubaker, Dexter Hardy, and Jaxon Bucher as they spread out enough offense to stay in control. Bechtold added an assist, while Cedar Crest finished with 34 shots in the win.
Defensively, Paxton Thomas made eight saves in goal while holding Lancaster Country Day to five goals. Thomas now stands at 574 career saves, which also marks an all-time program record for the Falcons.
Cedar Crest will now head into the final week of the regular season with two road games remaining. The Falcons will travel to Bishop McDevitt before closing the schedule at Central Dauphin East.
