Thursday, March 12th

ELCO 5, Lebanon 0

ELCO opened its season in dominant fashion, as the Raiders swept Lebanon 5-0 to begin the year with a convincing victory. The Raiders controlled the match from start to finish, dropping just one game across the five flights in an impressive all-around performance against the Cedars.

At singles, Brett Wenger earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Andrew Walizer at #1 Singles, while James Dolan defeated Chris Bedolla by a 6-0, 6-0 score at #2 Singles and Jevan Marquette topped Jesse Lewis 6-0, 6-0 at #3 Singles. In doubles play, Reagan Grumbine and Tim Drib posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ryan Eachus Larkin and Edison Sanchez Cabreraat #1 Doubles, while Brady Habecker and Josiah Jalique completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Bryan Gonzalez and Ivan Montas at #2 Doubles.

ELCO is now 1-0, while Lebanon starts the season 0-1.

Lampeter-Strasburg 4, Annville-Cleona 1

Annville-Cleona came up short against Lampeter-Strasburg, but Travis Hostetter provided the highlight for the Dutchmen with a straight-set win at #1 Singles. Hostetter earned Annville-Cleona’s lone team point with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Nate Ouellette.

The rest of the lineup continued to battle against a strong L-S side. Augustus Giurintano dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Trevor Groff at #2 Singles, Brent Meyer fell 6-0, 6-3 to Ryan McClure at #3 Singles, Emilio Fuentes Garcia and Isaac Hostetter were defeated 6-4, 6-2 by Micah Drouillard and Luke Moyer at #1 Doubles, and George Maag and Nicholas Leonard lost 6-1, 6-2 to Trent Royer and Tristan Thomas at #2 Doubles.

Annville-Cleona is now 0-1.

Dallastown 5, Cedar Crest 0

Cedar Crest opened its season with a tough road test against powerhouse Dallastown, as the Falcons were handed a 5-0 loss by one of District 3’s top programs. Despite the final score, Cedar Crest gained an early measuring-stick match against strong competition to begin the new campaign.

At singles, Nathan Meng battled to a 6-2, 6-4 loss against James Anderson at #1 Singles, while Ted Doane fell 6-0, 6-2 to Nirvan Joshi at #2 Singles and Xen Donten dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Nathaniel Erickson at #3 Singles. In doubles play, the Falcons’ top team of Tyler Do and Sammy Zeisloft lost 6-1, 6-0 to Ryan LoPicoolo and Holden Depew at #1 Doubles, while Elliot Laster and Mark Kase were defeated 6-3, 6-1 by Blajian Miller and Steven Coulson at #2 Doubles.

Cedar Crest is 0-1.
