As Independence Day nears, so do the LebCo Youth Legion Playoffs. Below is a quick look at the standings, along with a schedule of upcoming games that highlights the local postseason structure.
The LebCo League Champion will then prepare to play in the Regional Tournament, which will begin on July 19th at Boyertown. The tournament, one of three in Pennsylvania, will be an eight-team double-elimination format. The top two teams from Boyertown will move on to compete in the State Championship at the end of the month.
Has a LebCo team ever won the State Championship? Since 1969, Jonestown has won twice and Myerstown has brought home the trophy once. Prior to 1969, when the program went officially by Connie Mack Baseball, Newmanstown staked their claim to the State title in 1950.
