Vikings Turn Up the Heat in Dual Meet Sweep of Hamburg
Under sunny skies and temperatures pushing toward 90 degrees on Thursday, Northern Lebanon turned in a strong all-around effort against Hamburg. The Vikings handled the heat just fine, and in plenty of events, they brought some of their own.
Northern Lebanon came away with a sweep in the dual meet, with the girls earning a 98-47 victory and the boys following with a 103-43 win.
Girls Recap: Northern Lebanon 98, Hamburg 47
Northern Lebanon’s girls used balance and depth to take control of the meet. Jobrianna Long was one of the biggest storylines of the day, winning both the 100m Hurdles (17.37) and the Pole Vault (6’0″), while Zoey Bouchard claimed the 1600m (6:07) and 800m (2:39.84). Selah Martino added a win in the 200m (28.28) after finishing second in the 100m (13.75), and the Vikings also got track victories from Haley Oliver in the 400m (1:03.97) and Elsie Shuey in the 3200m (14:17). Northern Lebanon also picked up relay wins in the 4x800m Relay (13:33) and 4x400m Relay (4:44.4).
The Vikings were just as sharp in the field events. Emma Yordy won the High Jump (5’2″), Kasey Weimer captured the Shot Put (28’2.75″), and Emily Weimer swept the throwing wins in the Discus (93’8″) and Javelin (72’1″). Northern Lebanon also got runner-up finishes from MacKenzie Miller in the Long Jump (14’0.25″) and Triple Jump (30’3″), Sara Feagley in the Discus (89’7″) and Javelin (61’7″), and Katyanne Light in the Javelin (69’0″).
Hamburg’s top efforts came from Kamryn Whitman, who won both the 100m (13.6) and 300m Hurdles (52.97), and Kyla Rogers, who captured the Long Jump (15’5.5″) and Triple Jump (34’2.75″) while tying for first in the High Jump (5’2″). Hamburg also won the 4x100m Relay (52.35) and got strong scoring performances from Ava Rollman in the sprints, Angelica Hess in the 1600m (6:25.45), and Lilian Petre in the 800m (2:47.26).

Boys Recap: Northern Lebanon 103, Hamburg 43
Northern Lebanon’s boys controlled the meet with a mix of distance dominance, sprint points, and field-event strength. Luke Hentz swept the 1600m (4:53.50) and 800m (2:12.22), while the Vikings went 1-2-3 in the 1600m and also swept the 3200m behind Thaddeus Raub (11:47), Josiah Kelly (11:57), and Avery Costanzo (12:58). Northern Lebanon also opened the day with a win in the 4x800m Relay (13:11) and closed it with another relay victory in the 4x400m Relay (4:31.1).
Northern Lebanon added more first-place finishes on the track with Brady Ryan in the 100m (11.91), Tucker Reiber in the 400m (55.50), and Isaiah Lex in the 200m (25.10). In the field, the Vikings got wins from Johnny Hilton in the High Jump (5’6″), Cody Leedy in the Long Jump (19’11.75″), Jason Bishop in the Triple Jump (35’11.75″), Connor Troxell in the Shot Put (45’3.75″), Levi Bucks in the Pole Vault (8’0″), and Kaelor Erdman in the Javelin (128’1″).
Hamburg’s best work came from Mason Gerber, who won both hurdle races in the 110m Hurdles (15.56) and 300m Hurdles (44.63), while Luis Ortiz was second in the 110m Hurdles (16.93) and Triple Jump (35’8.75″). The hosts also got an event win from their 4x100m Relay (47.32), and Will Marchiano led a solid day in the throws by winning the Discus (131’2″), with Jonah Josefick taking second in both the Shot Put (38’0.75″) and Discus (129’6″)
