Cedar Crest Stays Hot with Dominant Road Win Over Ephrata
Cedar Crest entered Friday’s road game at Ephrata having won five in a row, and the Falcons showed no signs of slowing down. Playing away from home, Cedar Crest turned in another dominant performance, rolling to a 16-3 league victory to push its winning streak to six games and improve to 8-2 on the season.
Avery Lechleitner and Samantha Brown helped lead the Falcons offensively. Lechleitner finished with 6 goals, including 100th career goal, while Brown added 4 goals and 2 assists. Bella Paquette also played a major role in the attack with 3 goals and 2 assists as Cedar Crest once again found production from multiple spots.
Adding to the balanced scoring effort were Laney Snavely, Katie McCracken, and Star Simaska, who each scored once. Addi Davis, Alex Jones, and Simaska all contributed assists, while Paquette and Brown helped keep the offense moving with multi-assist performances.
On the defensive end, Viola Bierman came up with 8 saves in goal as the Falcons limited Ephrata to just 3 goals. For the Mounts, Lyla Clement, Lizzy Kiely, and Zion Kapp each scored, while Clement also added an assist.
Cedar Crest (8-2) will have a chance to avenge an early season loss when they host Hempfield on Tuesday.
