Cedar Crest Makes It Two Straight, Sweeps E-Town

Looking to build on last Thursday’s win over Ephrata, Cedar Crest made it two in a row on Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep of Elizabethtown at home. The Falcons earned the Section 1 victory by set scores of 25-21, 25-18, and 25-21.

Cedar Crest set the tone by taking a competitive opening set, then gained more control in the 2nd behind a strong all-around effort. The Falcons kept the pressure on in the 3rd to finish off the straight-set win and continue their recent momentum.

Wyeth Ritter sparked Cedar Crest with 7 aces, while Matthew Peelen directed the offense with 22 assists. Matthew Spragg added 11 digs, and Niko Kotay contributed 7 kills and 3 blocks in the victory.

For Elizabethtown, Aidan Kay recorded 3 aces, Finn McCoy posted 7 kills and 7 digs, and Matthew Kerin finished with 10 assists.

With the win, Cedar Crest improved to 6-2 on the season. The Falcons are now off until next Tuesday, when they are scheduled to host Warwick in a major Section 1 showdown.
