Beard Earns National Pitcher of the Week Honors

Northampton Community College sophomore right-handed pitcher Austin Beard was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 27th. Beard, a 2022 Cedar Crest graduate, defeated #3 Brookdale Community College on Saturday, March 30th, by throwing a complete game and picking up 11 Ks against Jersey Blues. This performance came just one week after 10 Ks in a win over #1-ranked Rowan College of South Jersey – Gloucester. Beard improved to 5-1 on the season and his NCC Spartans shot up from #4 to #2 in the nation following a ten-day span during which they went 6-3 against two top-five teams and another nationally ranked opponent. Following the 2024 season with the Spartans, Beard will pitch for NCAA Division One Monmouth University in Long Branch, NJ. (published 4/4 @ 5 am)

Jones Commits to BYU

On Wednesday evening, Palmyra’s Kadin Jones announced via social media that he has committed to BYU where he plans to continue his Lacrosse career. During his time at Palmyra, the senior defender has also been a vital member of the Football and Wrestling teams. (published 4/4 @ 5 am)

Two Palmyra Cheerleaders Chosen for Big 33 Classic

While LebCo will not have any players in this year’s edition of the Big 33 Classic, that does not mean our community will be without representation. Two Palmyra cheerleaders, Haley Wallaesa (Sr.) and Blaytin Risser (Jr.), tried out and were chosen as part of Team Pennsylvania in the game that will take place on May 26th at Cumberland Valley. LVC Alum Re-Joins Rice University Coaching Ranks

Chris Kreider, a 2003 graduate of LVC, has been named the Associate Head Coach for Rice University Men’s Basketball. This will be Kreider’s second stint at Rice, having most recently coached at SMU under new head coach Rob Lanier, who Rice hired to replace Scott Pera.
