District 3 Playoff Tracker – Fall 2023

As the District 3 Fall Sports Playoffs are beginning and 10 LebCo teams in action in Field Hockey, Soccer, and Volleyball, this will be a place to keep track of the results for all of the schools involved in team competitions.  This will be in addition to the weekly scoreboard, which will be updated daily.

Scheduled games/matches will be colored blue, while new/latest results will be colored green.

Cedar Crest

14 teams qualify in 3A.  Cedar Crest earned the #14 seed.

First Round: #3 Warwick defeated #14 Cedar Crest  7-1  (Wednesday, 10/25, 7:00 pm @ Warwick HS)

Palmyra

16 teams qualify in 3A.  Palmyra earned the top seed.

First Round: #1 Palmyra defeated #16 Garden Spot 5-0 (Wednesday, 10/25, 6:30 pm @ Palmyra HS) 

Quarterfinals: # 1 Palmyra defeated #8 Hershey  3-1 (Saturday, 10/28, 11:00 am @ Palmyra)

• Mallory Hudson scored twice, with Keely Bowers adding a goal and an assist.  Bri Eckenroth also had an assist on the 1st goal of the game.
• Palmyra built a 2-0 lead before Hershey got on the board right as the 2nd half began.
• Hershey was held to only one shot in the entire game.
• Palmyra clinched State Playoff Berth with this victory

Annville-Cleona

First Round: #12 Annville-Cleona defeated #5 Lancaster Country Day   8-0  (Wednesday, 10/25, 4:00 pm @ Lancaster Catholic HS)  Game Summary

• Annville-Cleona triumphed over Lancaster Country Day, with whom they split their season series and shared the Section 4 Championship
• Goal scorers for the Dutchmen were: Tori Cisney (2), Kendall Cooper (2), Grace Francis, Ainsley Sellers, Danika Setlock, & Olivia Viozzi. Savannah Kleinfelter made 11 saves to earn the shutout victory.

Quarterfinals: #4 Bishop McDevitt defeated #12 Annville-Cleona   6-2  (Saturday, 10/28, 12:00 pm @ McDevitt)

Consolation 1: #8 Newport defeated #12 Annville-Cleona    3-2    (Wednesday, 11/1, 4:00 @ Susquenita)

7th place: #12 Annville-Cleona to play #3 ELCO   (Saturday, 11/4, 10:00 am @ ELCO)

AAA

16 teams qualify in 3A. ELCO earned the #6 seed, while Palmyra earned the #5 spot.

First Round: #6 ELCO defeated #11 Manheim Central, 1-1 [3-1] (Monday, 10/23, 7:00 pm @ ELCO HS)  Game Summary

• Result: ELCO’s Jaden Noll scored the 1st goal of the game with just under 10:00 remaining. Central responded to tie the game with just over 5 minutes left. The two teams then played to a draw through 2 OTs. ELCO won 3-1 on Penalty Kicks.

Quarterfinals: #3 Conrad Weiser defeated #6 ELCO    1-0 (Thursday, 10/26, 7:00 pm, @ Conrad Weiser)

• Result: Weiser scored the game’s only goal with 13:45 remaining to advance past ELCO.

First Round: #10 Lampeter-Strasburg defeats #7 Palmyra  2-1  (Monday, 10/23, 6:30 pm @ Palmyra HS) Game Summary

• Lampeter-Strasburg scored 2 early goals.  Palmyra’s Matt Bordner scored a goal prior to halftime, but the score remained unchanged throughout the rest of the contest.

• Hamburg scored with 4:20 left in the game. ELCO tied it up on a Hadyn Boyer goal with 2:29 left.  The score would remain tied through 2 OTs.  Hamburg won 2-1 on Penalty Kicks.
