This weekend, there were two major races involving Lebanon County XC programs took place. Below are the results from each.
Paul Short Invitational
The first major event to report was Cedar Crest competition at the Paul Short Invitational. This invitational is an annual event held at Lehigh University, drawing high schools and colleges from all over the United States. The 2022 edition included a high school team from Michigan (Negaunee), while the college race included the University of California – San Diego. According to PA MileSplit’s rankings, seven of the top ten ranked Pennsylvania boys’ teams and five ranked girls teams ran at this event . In total, over 5,500 athletes from over 450 high schools and colleges competed between the twelve races held on Friday. Simply put, this is a big event.
Due to the large size number of high schoolers competing, they were split between two divisions, Brown and White (Lehigh’s colors). Cedar Crest was placed in the Brown Division. On the boys side the Brown division featured six of the top 10 ranked teams in Pennsylvania, along with a couple of other teams who will be ranked and several talented individual runners. On the girls side, Brown included five of the top ten teams from the commonwealth, along with Lancaster Lebanon League heavyweight, Manheim Township.
