District 3 Playoffs

New Covenant 51, Convenant Christian 44

New Covenant entered the 1A District 3 Tournament as the #8 seed. In the 1st round, they were matched against #9 Covenant Christian, a team with whom they had split their season series.
With a week-long layoff, the Flames came out cold, falling behind early. After the 1st quarter, they faced a 9-point hole. By halftime, Covenant Christian held a 29-19 lead over New Covenant.

However, the Flames found their spark in the 3rd quarter and began chipping away on both ends of the floor. By the end of the quarter, New Covenant only trailed by 3 points. The effort continued into the 4th, and the Flames blew by Covenant Christian to earn the 6-point win.

For the game, freshman Qynne Demler led the Flames with 23 points. Miracle Hershey scored 21 points, hitting three three-pointers in the process.

New Covenant (13-8) will now face top-seeded Linville Hill, whom they lost to in the CCAC Playoffs last week.
