Hollenbach Reaches Milestone as Vikings Follow Section Clincher with Rout of Cocalico

A day after capturing the LL Section 3 Championship with a dominant 17-1 win over Manheim Central, Northern Lebanon was right back on the field Tuesday and kept its momentum rolling with a 12-1 win over Cocalico.

The Vikings, who are now 14-3, used a 10-run 1st inning to quickly take control after Cocalico had opened the scoring in the top half of the inning. Northern Lebanon answered with a long rally that included an RBI walk from Alyssa Shirey, an RBI single by Sophia Roye, a Cocalico error that brought home two more runs, bases-loaded walks from Keira Palskiand Ryleigh Hopkins, a three-run double by Stephanie Palkovic, and an RBI double by Addison Kubica.

Addison Hollenbach added to the lead in the 3rd with an RBI single that made it 11-1, then the Vikings tacked on one more run to close out the scoring. Northern Lebanon finished with nine hits and also showed patience at the plate by drawing six walks.

In the circle, Hollenbach delivered another strong performance while also reaching a major career milestone. She allowed just two hits and one run over five innings, striking out nine and walking none. In the process, she recorded her 300th career strikeout.

Palkovic led the Vikings with three RBI, while Palski and Kubica each collected two hits. Hopkins reached base repeatedly, drawing three walks and scoring three runs. Northern Lebanon also played a clean defensive game, finishing without an error.

For Cocalico, Sydney Leasure doubled and scored the Eagles’ lone run, while Kara Yeager also collected a hit.

Northern Lebanon will have off until Friday, when the Vikings travel to South Lebanon to face Cedar Crest.
