Annville-Cleona Wins Third Straight with Victory at ELCO

Annville-Cleona kept its momentum rolling on Monday, earning a 6-1 road win over ELCO. The Dutchmen took control in singles play and carried that edge into doubles, picking up their third straight victory to improve to 4-3 on the season, while the Raiders moved to 6-3.

Annville-Cleona claimed three of the four singles matches to set the tone. At #1 singles, Travis Hostetter earned a 6-1, 6-3 win over Brett Wenger, while Augustus Giurintano followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory against James Dolan at #2.

ELCO’s lone point came at #3 singles, where Jevan Marquette defeated Isaac Hostetter 6-4, 6-0. The Dutchmen answered right back at #4 singles, with Brent Meyer posting a 6-0, 6-2 win over Brady Habecker.

The Dutchmen did their damage sweeping doubles. At #1 doubles, Travis Hostetter and Augustus Giurintano teamed up for an 8-3 win over Wenger and Marquette. Isaac Hostetter and Emilio Fuentes Garcia added another point with an 8-5 victory over Dolan and Habecker at #2 doubles. At #3 doubles, Brent Meyer and George Maag were leading Reagan Grumbine and Tim Drib 5-0 when ELCO retired the match.

With the result, Annville-Cleona is now 4-3 on the season and has won three matches in a row. ELCO now sits at 6-3.
